"My husband already left a review for our project, but I wanted to add some additional praise. Alter Construction did an absolutely wonderful job replacing our floors and I highly recommend them! Communication: One of the first things you'll notice with Eli and his team is the tremendous amount of communication. He'll talk you through everything, provide recommendations as necessary, and answer any questions. On top of that, Eli sent us multiple updates every day that we were out of the house to keep us aware of what was happening. Pictures, video, text explanations, and he was always available for a call. It really put my mind at ease that the house was well taken care of in our absence. He ran the outside taps when it froze, kept the house at the temperature we requested, and cleaned up everything after. He also made us aware of little things like how the paint color we picked for baseboards didn't match the existing trim. With everything he did, made sure that we would be happy with the finished product. Quality: The workmanship is outstanding. The tile is cut and laid beautifully, with no hollow sounds when walking. My father used to lay tile back in his day, so trust me when I say it was well inspected after! Our walls have rounded corners, so it was very nice of Alter Construction to cut and round the baseboards instead of leaving them sharp. It looks very clean now. Attention to Detail: What really makes the work stand out is the team's attention to detail. They replaced a section of baseboards that wasn't in the work area to make them match because they were visible from the living room. They were kind enough to reinstall our baby gates at a higher position because the new baseboards were taller than the old ones. They even patched a hole in the carpet of one of our bedrooms with the scraps they pulled up from the living room. This wasn't something that we had asked them to do, they just took the initiative to really make everything nice for us when we came home. Summary: If you're looking for someone to do work on your house, you can't go wrong with Alter Construction. They'll take care of you like family and I promise you won't be disappointed."

"My feeling in writing this review is deep and total ambivalence. During this entire project, there were moments of great satisfaction...and great frustration/anger. Let's start with what I felt was done extremely well: Jèsus - The real MVP of this project. This man absolutely deserves the utmost praise and respect for how great a job he did installing the tile for my kitchen/dining room floor as well as the backsplash near the end of the project. The pride he takes in his work shows and my friends/family were blown away at the pictures I showed them of what he did. If he's reading this, I'll recommend you to ANYBODY needing some tile work done! BAH Carpenter (name escapes me, my apologies) - That great frustration/anger I mentioned earlier? This man quelled some of it due to some incompetence on the part of the GC and crew chief (more on that later). Toluca Granite (countertops install) - I already gave them high praise on Yelp, but I'll echo those sentiments again on Angie's List. From the first contact, to the finished product, they were absolutely outstanding! With that being said... Let's talk about where they severely dropped the ball on this project: Drywall - The people they hired for my drywall work were HORRIBLE! They dirtied up my house without any consideration. Plaster footprints all over my bedroom floor, in my bathroom (they stepped ALL OVER my shower drying mat), dirt all in my tub, plaster chunks on my bedroom light switch, my towels, on the side of my sofa, and on the legs of my dining room table. Then, to top it off, they used my broom to SWEEP wet mud and plaster. Total lack of communication - THIS is why my grades in certain parts of this review is so low. Delays are a part of the game sometimes. I get that. But this was ridiculous. First off, there was a situation where my cabinets were delivered and supposed to be installed on 12/29. I came home early from work thinking I was going to see the crew installing the cabinets or already having them done. Didn't happen. Instead, I came home to a pile of cabinets all over my dining room floor and the pantry cabinet standing tall in my living room. So I'm thinking, perhaps they went to go get some more tools/materials and they'd be back. Didn't happen. I texted the crew chief asking what the status was on getting the cabinets installed. Didn't hear anything for nearly 2 hours and then when I did, received the equivalent of "we need to talk." Man is on the phone telling me that the cabinets (I spent a serious amount of money for) don't fit. You can only imagine my reaction to hearing that. It was a sh***y way to end the year and I wouldn't hear back from anyone until after the New Year holiday. Continuing, I get a text on 1/2 from the crew chief wanting to setup a meet with me, the GC, himself, and their carpenter on the cabinet situation. 1/3, the carpenter came through and stated that all but one of the cabinets CAN be installed after he laid out the scenarios for me. The one that couldn't? The GC screwed up on the order/measurement of the cabinet that was to be to the left of my stove so that one had to be reordered. Downtime? 2 weeks. The next instance is what pushed me over the edge: Countertops go in (they had to make two trips due to the delay in the aforementioned lower left cabinet) and I texted the crew chief for an update (1/22) and he tells me that ANOTHER cabinet was mis-measured and that the GC had to order a replacement. If I hadn't reached out, I wouldn't have known. I was ****** off beyond belief. I got so tired of "oh hey by the way..." finding out about these delays that I called the GC directly and voiced my displeasure of being kept in the dark about these screw ups. Downtime: approx. 12 days. Now, despite all of the venting, the delays, the mess ups leading to said delays, the results are amazing. The finished product I'm extremely happy with and it all came together beautifully in the end. It's everything leading up to it that wasn't as pleasant. Advice: tighten up on that communication. If something is wrong, let the customer know asap. If you're waiting for them to ask you what's the status update and THEN you tell them of what's wrong, it comes across as if you have something to hide. Too much money is being invested to keep people in the dark. Also, don't ever hire those drywall people. Ever. Again."

"We had the LET Group do a multifaceted remodel and construction effort on our home: remodeled the existing garage to a game room, added a bathroom, remodeled/moved the laundry room, remodeled the kitchen and main bathroom and built a new stand-alone garage with workshop. As other reviewers have noted, the LET Builder Project Manager, Luis Taipe, is fantastic. As all construction projects go, there were schedule problems and infrequent worker issues, but the key to a good project is how well these issues are managed and Luis is extremely professional and handled all issues efficiently and effectively. As other's have noted, Luis actually identified issues that my wife and I would have not noticed or ignored and had them corrected to his satisfaction first which was often more stringent than we would have requested. We struggled at the start of this project to find a good contractor and actually delayed the project several times because we were not comfortable with either the potential contractors or their proposals. This changed when we met Luis and listened to his absolute professional observations and recommendations during the initial project assessment and proposal process. His proposals were detailed and he was responsive to changes. Yes, there were several contract changes, but we were aware of them (no surprises) and were part of the process in developing the contract changes. This was a very big step for my wife and I and it was a major project ---- could not be more satisfied with the results and have already passed on recommendations to neighbors. Would recommend LET Builders to anyone with Luis as the Project Manager. Luis is personable, professional, and extremely responsive --- met his family as well and it is a very nice package to have worked with."

"I am taking the opportunity to express my gratitude and thanks to Allan and his team (Tom, Mike, Jerry and all others) who preformed work in my home after flooding damage resulted from a broken water line caused by the 2020 TX winter storm. Allan and his group were super responsive, knowledgeable, skilled and made the experience a positive one. They were all extremely professional and courteous (cleaned up in all areas they worked in) and efficient throughout the entire process. Prices were fair and reasonable! No need to look any further! I highly endorse Allan and team @ AC Cornerstone Building for a job well done!"

"My kitchen cabinet was damaged by the dishwasher leak and the water remediation company had to get rid of the kitchen cabinet and took out the sheetrock behind the cabinet. Robert is a professional guy and he has been in the cabinet business for over 20 years. He bought the new insulation, new sheetrock and wood planks. He put the insulation and sheetrock back on and he made the cabinet from wood planks. The new cabinet matches the existing cabinets in the kitchen. He also painted the wall and so I could not see the sign of the cabinets being repaired. In all, I highly recommend oncall service."

"We couldn’t be happier with the incredible job Tristan and his team did on our pool deck and pergola! From start to finish, they were professional, hardworking, and exceptionally easy to work with. The entire project was completed quickly without sacrificing quality, and their attention to detail was evident every step of the way. Tristan communicated well throughout the process, made sure everything was done right, and went above and beyond to deliver a finished product that exceeded our expectations. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and the deck has completely transformed our outdoor space. We’ve already received so many compliments on it! If you’re looking for a contractor who is reliable, thorough, efficient, and takes pride in his work, we highly recommend Tristan and his team."

FAQs for addition to existing structure building service projects in Georgetown, TX

You can typically raise your roof by four to eight feet, depending on your home's structure and roof design. The exact amount depends on factors like roof slope and framing support. Raising the roof creates additional interior space, enhances natural light, and increases your home's value. Consult a professional to determine the feasible height increase for your home.

Yes, you need a building permit to raise your roof. Obtaining a building permit ensures your project complies with local building codes and safety regulations. A professional contractor can assist with the permit and inspection process and ensure all legal and safety requirements are met. Your contractor will be familiar with building codes in your area, which can differ between cities or states.

While it's possible to raise a flat roof, it requires extensive structural modifications. Flat roofs lack the attic space and support structures of pitched roofs, so raising them involves significant engineering to ensure safety and durability. This process can be complex and costly, so professional assessment is essential before undertaking a project of this magnitude.
