"Turned out that the fix was simple -- but we wouldn't have known what to do without advice from the technician. Really appreciate the service and expertise! Only complaint was that the tech took unnecessary time asking about products we use in the dishwasher. We have no complaints about the quality of washing and drying we are getting, and we're committed to using products that don't scratch or perfume our dishes or harm the water supply. Technician asked what we use and told us to "throw that away" and use recommended products. I can understand that certain products are recommended with certain makes of appliances -- but it would have taken 20 seconds to tell us what the recommended products are without having our choices criticized. Overall, we were thrilled to be able to get sound advice/help over the phone. Thank you for offering this service! And we will definitely call again if we run into trouble."

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

"Two guys came out to our home.  The younger guy spent most of his time on the inside items while the older gentleman spent time outside.  Although I requested that our upstairs fan be placed on one light switch that can separately control the light and the fan as suggested by the older guy, the younger guy instead put in two separate wall switches, one on top of the other, and it did not look very good. However, they did return and fixed it without charge.   They do not give you a quote itemizing labor and materials and instead the guys call their home office and the home office guy says that he goes by "a book" that he has that sets the price and it doesn't itemize time or cost.  He then quoted me a total price that added up to more than the items in the book specified.  When I questioned that, he said that maybe his calculator wasn't working and reduced it a few hundred dollars.  I was told that the outside line that feeds into the house needed an immediate repair that would cost about $800.00.  Since it was supposedly an emergency I said ok, but frankly I don't know whether or not it really needed to be replaced.  I was directed to sign a form stating that it was an urgent emergency. I was told that the price included the upstairs fan, and then was told that because it took so long [I have no idea why it would have taken so long] they would have to charge a couple of extra hundred dollars extra."
