Small jobs welcome

I have been in the construction industry in some capacity for almost 20 years now. I started in building maintenance and now I mange residential restoration projects ranging from $500-500,000.\nI love what I do and would love to be more hands on outside of the project management that I do only a daily basis.

"Justin was great! He fixed my oven and stove top. There were parts that he required that were not readily at his disposal and he went out on his own to a nearby appliance supplier to pick of the needed items in order to finish the repair. Was very professional and the service was great!!! Would highly recommend him!!!!

"Damien removed and replaced a dishwasher that was a little more challenging than is typical because it was in a custom cabinet. This was unexpected, and it took longer than Damien expected, but he just rolled with it and honored the price he quoted. I was stressed out about it, but he was not. Heâ s always pleasant, kind and professional, when answering any question that I have and is RESPONSIVE!!. He is already scheduled to do more work for me next week. I definitely highly recommend him."

"When I called Dean's, they said someone could come out, but probably not until 8 or 9 in the evening. Someone called at about 7:30 and said they could be there by about 8:30. I didn't catch the guy's name, but he showed up promptly at 8:30 in the evening on a Sunday. He figured out that the igniter wasn't working, and said that he'd order the part the next day. I'm very grateful that I was able to get service on a Sunday night, even though I ultimately ended up getting the furnace serviced by someone else who had easier access to the part that was needed."

"Technician came to the house and analyzed the problem. It was determined that the cost of repair was over the allowable Choice Home Warranty limit and it should be replaced. Choice Home Warranty issued their replacement cost. This cost was unacceptable and I challenged their figure. After some negotiation I was offered an increased settlement amount. I still balked at their offer but I was told to take it or repair my old microwave. I finally accepted their amount, even though it is still well below what it will cost me to replace the unit. I might add that the existing microwave has the convection feature and I want to replace with same features. The cost that I will receive also does not include any removal, disposal or installation costs. At this time I am debating whether I will continue with Choice Home Warranty or consider other options."

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Gibbstown, NJ

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
