"I was searching Home Warranty providers after a bad experience with my 7 year, soon to be terminated "former" Fidelity Home Warranty service provider. Warranty service providers are essential, for they step in and "act" when life deals you an "Oh Crap" situation like your refrigerator suddenly quits. Every high dollar appliance in a home has a life span that will end whether your prepared for it or not. It's a common occurance that leads to unexpected higher debt concerns while you frantically attempt to save your food from going bad. Got a minimum of $1,700 to get a new one? A truck or a really good friend to borrow theirs to pick it up? Plus time to allow it to achieve proper temperature to transfer your temp sensitive food! Well if you haven't experienced this type of event, in your life, you will! I began by doing some easy research online like searching for best Home Warranty providers. I put some inquiries out to prospective providers and as expected, the sales calls began to ring on my phone. They all have why "they" are the best provider - so take notes and compare policies. Ask whether they cover swimming pools, septic systems, roof repairs etc. So my phone rings with an out-of-state area code and it's Zach from Choice Home Warranty. While on the call, this enthusiastic salesman hit all the "trigger" items I was looking for; *Annual Service Price *Price per claim deductable *Response time You know, all the "need to know" info that helps you make an informative decision. I started paying $550/year 7 years ago in 2014 with my old service provider. The per claim fee was $65. Today in 2022, it's $710/year and $85/claim. Was it worth it you ask? If I figure the math, my total cost over 7 years and only 4 claims was $4,450 or $636/year. This cost paid to replace my pools salt cell and chlorine generator ($1,800 in parts alone), 2 separate Air Conditioner repairs which replaced the coil fan motor, a circuit board replacement, system coil cleansing, relays and a capacitor. (No idea of how much my total cost would have been. I paid $65 twice. Nice huh?) 1 roof repair that replaced the "Cricket", which is a 15' roof section elevational change just below the ridge line. It's important to remember that these repairs don't include "hidden costs" which are personnel and service labor rates. Something you will pay for without a Warranty Service. Here's the best part of the call from this AWESOME salesman. He offered me 6 year "fully transferable", rate locked for life" service policy that when divided out by 6 is LESS THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING ANNUALLY, 7 YEARS AGO!!! So, is a Home Warranty plan a safe bet??? I have a 9 word answer for those without a Choice Home Warranty service plan. YOU BET YOUR DRIPPING SWEATY BUTT CRACK IT IS!!! Props to Zach, YOU DA MAN!!! "I was told by the office that they didn't come out to our area. That's the only problem that I had. That didn't say that on the voucher or I wouldn't have bought it. But, when they first scheduled they didn't say anything either. It was when I cancelled and rescheduled is when I got that. But they did come out.  He called because he had a flat tire and they were going to be an hour later. That was fine with me, nothing bothered me about that.  Once they got out here, the guy was so good to me. My illness is sever and he noticed it right away and his sister had died from it. He was very good. He showed me what he did and what he was going to do. I left him on his own because I had to lie down and then when he was done, he even did a load of laundry. He had to drain it so he could get it below a level so he could open up a pipe. The pipe was in the basement and so he had to get all the water out. He asked me what clothes to put in there and I was shocked for a minute. He explained to me what he was doing and I said, oh that make sense. When he was finished, he gave me his card, his personal card. I explained that the office said they don't come out to the area because he said if I ever needed them again just give them a call and he said, oh, don't worry about it, once you are in our system, they'll do it.  I'm pleased with the work and just with the communication. Excellent service. The guy was just superb. The extra cost was only an extra $25 and he said we saved $300 in the end. He was there for about 3 hours. He even grouted it with the same color as the outside wall whereas my husband had just put in regular caulking grout and it didn't look good."
