I told him we could wait until the next day, he arrived on time, dug up my very rocky soil to get to the water main and made the repairs. Robert was the first to respond to my request for a plumber and came by -- in person -- the same day to observe the problem (wet spot on lawn) and gave me two estimates to repair -- best case and worst case. Both estimates (IMO) were fair and reasonable. I hired him on the spot. He came by on schedule the next working day, and quickly repaired the water line at the agreed upon price. problem solved.
