"It went GREAT! The tech who arrived was really professional, he even wore little baggies over his boots so that he wouldn't track dirt into my house! He was able to diagnose the issue and get it resolved within 2 hours. I wish I had gotten his name so I could give him some recognition here, but he went above and beyond. The guy not only fixed the leaking pipe/valve, he proceeded in bleeding out the air in all of our heaters getting them working again, and even tightened the nut to our water shutoff valve so that it would stop dripping. "Workmanship (Billy Pearsall) was excellent and done quickly; very courteous and professional. However based on various options quoted and online prices for the same heater model, it seems that the premium for same-day service and 6 yr warranty on the labor and miscellaneous parts was over $500! If I were to do it over again, I think I could have survived a week without hot water and would have ordered my own heater. As it was, the labor (and overhead?) would calculate out to ca. $300/hr."
