"Called, after checking the List, got Brenda on the phone, who made an appointment for the next day.
The plumber, Leno, called about 15 minutes before arriving (on time).
He assessed the situation, got to work and had the job wrapped up in an hour or so.
The repairs were fully successful. He also gave us some very helpful tips about a few other plumbing/heating-related issues that we will deal with later in the year.
We were very impressed with his hard work and professionalism. We will definitely hire Universal for our future plumbing needs.

About half of our kitchen and half of the utility room had become bowed by water leaking under the floor from a water heater.  We discovered the water heater leak and replaced it, but were not aware of the extent of the problem. No one wanted the job!  It wasn't big enough for them. Ramon Acosta of D&R Services determined the extent of the damage and gave us a fair estimate. His team obtained the floor covering we selected and did a beautiful job of putting it down covering both affected rooms after replacing the floor itself.  There was also damage to a door jam that required additional structural work, which they also handled. They cleaned everything up and left nothing for us to have to do ourselves.

"These guys were amazing and so professional every step of the way. They had to dig down through ENORMOUS tree roots to get to the line and replace the pipes, all the while avoiding upper tree branches and other obstacles. They had gone down with a camera in the previous week, so they knew exactly what materials, equipment and permits were needed and executed the job brilliantly. They left the portion of the yard they had to excavate perfectly level with the rest of it and you couldn't even tell they had dug it up. They cleaned up everything immaculately, too! We had just replaced an element and they told us it was the wrong one and took the element but we had just put on and was going to bring back the proper one as well as the one that they had taken off they brought back a different one never brought back the new one that they had taken off but I had already replaced and two days later the furnace quit blowing hot air againI was told it would be more than a week before somebody could get out there and I had a newborn baby that was born less than a week earlier.. needless to say we ended up calling another company and the element was not the problem it's just that they were dirty posts on one of the firing pins it took a minute half with steel wool to clean it off and my furnace works works great ever since.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
