"Steven and Derik replaced a large existing wood deck with composite lumber. Also added pebbles under deck and replaced lattice around the deck. The work involved a significent challenge in lifting and decking under an existing outdoor kitchen. York River Outdoors did an excellant job. Their craftsmanship was better than most other contractors and their work ethic was outstanding. They maintained excellant communication and completed the job in a fast and efficient manner. They exceeded all expectations and I would recommend them for any outdoor improvement."

"Greystone did a fantastic job designing and installing our stamped concrete patio and sitting wall.  The crew was professional and they made every effort to minimize the impact to the rest of my front yard.  My wife and I were extremely happy with the service and quality of the patio.  Highly recommend them for any concrete work you may have.   There price was very reasonable and the quality can't be beat. <br />"

"I had a retaining wall that had broken pretty badly on the corner over the winter, a step that puddles and some cracks that needed repairing. Dennis was fantastic to work with from the very beginning. He came out promptly to give me an estimate and was very reasonably priced. He explained everything to me so I would understand. We had some rain issues scheduling (nothing to do with him, just bad storms for about a week) and he kept in touch and was very considerate of my time. When he came to do the actual repair he was fun to work with, knowledgeable and kept me posted on what was going on the whole time. He was so nice and did a wonderful job. His work was amazing and really looks great. I would definitely hire Dennis again and again."

"The design process with Timothy was very pleasant and professional.  He provided choices for plantings and helped me select the most appropriate.  There was a long wait for implementation, which was not unexpected.  An implementation date was finally given but nobody showed up, and nobody responded to my phone calls.  Eventually Timothy emailed me and apologized for the problems.  Work finally began several days later.  The crew, headed by Brandon, did an excellent job.  However, they were often delayed waiting for material or equipment to be delivered. <br />"

"So like a number of other house, we had sinking front concrete steps. Our sizable front stairs had sunk about 6 inches and pull the attached walk with it. It got to the point we just had to have them replaced. I checked out various options for having them mud-jacked, but my concern was that that would not really fix the issue for the long term and they would just end up sinking again. After getting several bids we went with Tavis at Quality Concrete and Masonry. They weren't the cheapest bid but seemed the most trustworthy and had the best plan to make sure the problem did not re-occur. Tavis started on a Tuesday and was essentially work complete by Saturday. His work was very high quality. Because of the site, amount of concrete, etc. he used 1.5" rebar instead of the standard 0.5" rebar to tie the steps to the house. ( I've never even seen 1.5" rebar before.) Site was left clean each day and the final product exceeded our expectations."

"Service was terrific. The irrigation system is flawless, and is designed and built by Brett to be expandable at a later date - a great feature Brett recommended. The bluestone patio is amazing - please see photo. Note the attention to detail: properly sloped for runoff; stone cutting is flawless (look at the round edge); the sitting wall and fire pit are perfectly built, solid and gorgeous (note the built-in wall lights, on a control box and timer); and the final touches include edge bed shaping, mulch and boulders - yes, Corey and his crew added 3 boulders that are the perfect final detail (2 are visible in the photo). Before starting, Virginia Grounds had to excavate a ton of soil under the deck in order to bring it to grade with the rest of the back yard. All work was professional and meticulous; all his crews were respectful and polite."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Gloucester, VA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
