"A2Z did a super job installing a tongue and groove wood ceiling on our porch. They stained the wood, applied protectant and added furring strips to the ceiling prior to installation as we wanted the boards installed along the length of the ceiling. We weren’t at home when they did the work but when we returned home we were pleased to see the beautiful ceiling installed and everything all cleaned up. They had to come back to finish one small strip of molding as they ran out of material, but they was completed within a couple days. Highly recommend this company and their superb craftsmen!"

"Becky and her staff at Refresh Renovations went above and beyond for us. Our home flooded slightly during Hurricane Ian. A friend recommended her, and I called her on the Saturday immediately after the hurricane. She found one of her staff who was willing to come out as an independent contractor to remove our baseboards the next day! So, after the official water mitigation, we got an estimate from her on the build-back work and some other painting we had been putting off. She managed to fit us in very soon so that our house would be livable. The workmen were also very good—knowledgeable, careful, and thorough. They put in long hours to get the job done, and we couldn’t be more grateful. There were a couple of hiccups, as there always are, but Becky and foreman Oscar got right on them and took care of it."

"He is busy with other projects, but came back with a quote. It was outside my budget and almost not worth it for a single room addition. If we can knock about 10 to 15k off the price, i think that would be more reasonable. With that price including the pool screen, it would bring my cost to 60k, I feel the area and space could be done for at most 35k, and ild be willing to do some work to save cost."

"All-In Construction is hands down the best company to handle any level of a home remodel. They remodeled our entire home inside and spruced up the outside with fresh paint and wood siding repairs. John Vanderwerken was our project manager, and he was extremely responsive, professional, and passionate about ensuring we were pleased with the project from start to finish. I highly recommend All-In Construction. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, All-In Team!"

"Josh and his crew are professional, knowledgeable and hard-working. Josh consistently offered design suggestions and solutions for both projects that enhanced the end result. They are dependable and easygoing in the sense that they are calm in the face of unexpected problems and/or delays. We had wrong parts or missing parts with some of our bathroom materials, but Josh always adjusted and work around the issues without complaint. They were respectful of our home, our time and us as the homeowners. One thing I appreciated was how they cleaned up their work area everyday and even cleaned up after some of the other trades. Josh worked well with the other trades involved in our remodels (plumber, electrician, painters, etc.) and would contact them when necessary. We were very pleased with their work and would not hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to others. In fact, we plan on having them do more work for us and have already recommended them to friends."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Gotha, FL

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
