It's rare when a contractor listens to and is willing to help a repair-minded woman to learn how to do the work and I really appreciated his guidance. "Technician arrived same day I called - Well done!!  Then he said unit didn't really need replacement, but that since it did show a minor problem he would replace it.  First  he installed a non-programmable unit - had to take it out when I asked him if it was a programmable unit.  He put a second unit in which also was not a comparable unit.  Then he put in a third unit - however there was no manual to accompany the unit.  The box he took it from looked rather beat up, certainly not new - I suspect it may have been opened for a different job, but the unit was probably a new unit.  The unit works fine.   I had to go on line to download the manual.  Overall - they did the job but it seemed the priority was to minimize cost.  I paid the $60 service call fee.  I would not use them again only because I like to have more confidence that the job was done correctly.  I'm not sure about this job."
