"Make it Drain does amazing work! They know what they are talking about and they fit you into their schedule right away. They can handle all things plumbing related and only use the best quality materials when they have to do replacements. We had our main sewer line from the street back up. They ran a camera and discovered we had major root intrusion and the clay pipe had begun to separate. They dug an 8ft hole down to the problem area, ran a liner through the clay pipe and replaced the connection. We are so thankful to no longer have to worry about our plumbing backing up. We will be calling Marc and Ean for all of our future plumbing needs. This was a big job and I’ve never felt more confident in hired contractors. They are excellent to work with!"

"Today, I got Jaime here from this company very nervous about a second opinion and what I was going to deal with. He saw a "clean out" behind my washer, and after explaining everything snaked this and got out "sludge." That's it!!!! He left my house and everything drained. He was professional, friendly, efficient, and kind and this cost me $84! I will not ever call another plumber again. I am going back to American Home Shield to ask for a refund on the previous service. I can't believe how thankful I am to have had this service today - honest, reliable, affordable......I am beside myself. Thank you Jaime and LA Hydro-Jet & Rooter Service, Inc.!!!!!!"

"<p>I had several plumbing jobs that needed to be done and I had been procrastinating for way too long. I called Cody and asked if he could come by for an estimate. He was able to squeeze me in the next day, AND he showed up right on time. My home is 30 years old and none of the bathroom fixtures had ever been replaced. There was a lot of rust and corrosion inside the fixtures and several were not working. Cody checked the showers, toilets and bathroom sinks and gave me an estimate of $703.00. The only thing I needed to buy was the fixtures for the sinks, but he supplied all other parts and fixtures. Because of my work hours, I thought I would have to wait a couple of weeks before I could schedule the work, because my schedule is so inflexible, but Cody offered to come by at 5pm just a couple of days later so I wouldn't have to take time off of work to get the repairs done. Cody and Anthony showed up on right at 5pm on the scheduled day and they had all of he work completed in 3 hours. Since he had to caulk the shower fixture, and it would take 6 hours to dry, he offered to caulk one, and come back the next day to caulk the other so we could use at least one shower tonight. I told him it was no big deal, since we all shower in the morning anyway, but it was very considerate of him to offer. When he checked my dishwasher, he found out that the person who originally installed it did no do it correctly and this was what was causing the problems (HUGE relief, because I was afraid I was going to have to buy a new dishwasher). </p> <p>After all of the work was completed, he advised me that the total would only be $675.00, not $703.00 because it turned out the sink fixtures I purchased came with supply lines attached, so he didn't need to charge me for them. I was very impressed with his honesty and professionalism. Cody an Anthony provided amazing customer service, were accommodating of my schedule and respectful of my time, they completed the work quickly and at a fair price. I highly recommend them.</p> <br />"

"They arrived early and had already flagged the spots of concern with the sewer pipe, on the front lawn. We received a written report after they finished. And 2 days later we received an internet link to view the video from their inspection. <br />"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Grand Terrace, CA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
