"I use him for my association stuff. He’s not the lowest price, but he does a great job. You would like the finished product. He did some work for me personally, he has done work for some of the neighbors here in Greenboro where I live; and he also did some work for the home owners association when I was president. He did a good job on that. He does great work, he doesn’t do things cheap. All I know is that anything he does, it’s a good project and people are happy. It is good quality. He happens to live in the development next to me, I know Ben, his brother. He is very responsive. I probably would use them because I know if I asked him to do it, if the price was definitely reasonable; I would be happy with the product. If I was trying to do it cheap then I wouldn’t use them. He doesn’t want to do stuff that looks bad or that looks cheap."

"I worked with Lisa. She went over and above to help me find exactly what I was looking for. She wasn't pushy or impatient. I will refer all friends and family to go with someone professional like Bertini and Lisa. I had a previous experience with another company and learned the importance of doing your research first."

"The addition went well and we were in after about 7 weeks - it would have been sooner but there were some weather issues (of course).  The remodeling section went OK, but there were a few hiccups.  Adam and his crew were great and friendly, but some of the subcontractors he uses were not giving us the time and attention that we felt we deserved with a project this size.  There were a few times where we had Adam call them back in so they could get it right.  The drywallers left CRAZY messes (mostly from our popcorn ceilings being scraped but seriously, we are trying to live there), and the electricians would come, leave, come back a couple of days or week later, leave again - just never getting the thing done. One part involving the video lines was drug on for over a month while work went on around it. <br /> When it came to the interior finish, which is Premier's crew, they were awesome.  We love the look of the remodel and our new kitchen is amazing.  The workers, Mike, Jessie, Curt, and Tim did great and they finished everything in a timely manner.  My kids felt totally fine around them and they would take time to chat with my family and pet the dogs.  <br /> We did have some miscommunications at the end with some punch list items but those were resolved eventually.  However, during the whole process, Adam was always available via email, text, or phone. <br /> Even with the subcontractor issues I described, I would not hesitate to use Premier again and I have referred a couple of coworkers and friends to them.  This was a very large project and now that we are all done and have been living in it for a few months, we LOVE it.  We get many compliments from friends and family.  Honestly, we wish we would have done this years ago...  :) <br /> I have given Adam permission to use us as a reference and please feel free to ask him for it and call if we can help give you more information. <br />"

"Excellent job. Joey provided a very timely estimate. Billed amount matched the estimated amount. Employees were professional, courteous and cleaned up after themselves every day. Foreman talked to me everyday of on sight work to assure the work was as expected, to assure all my questions were answered and to ask if anything additional needed to be done. After the job was finished, clean up was complete and grass seed was put down where needed. I have nothing negative to say about working with Joey and his team. The retaining wall looks amazing. The compliments are already pouring in. Without hesitation, I would definitely hire this team again."

"Overall, okay. They did the job and after a few back and forths, all of the small things they'd forgotten were done (e.g. type of shutters wasn't correct, so were reordered; exterior light was broken during work, so they fixed; new outlet installed as they'd broken one, etc.) Where I've downgraded them is for the lack of extras offered. As I watch neighbors get their siding done, their projects include repainting of the garage door and wood porches, brick/stone façade on the foundation wall, chimney cap, etc. We were not offered any similar services and in fact, when I asked about painting, they said no. A year later, my house looks incomplete as I have projects related to the residing that I need to do and my neighbors have nice new looking homes. If you just want new siding, bare bones project, this company is for you. If you want a complete project, I would look elsewhere."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Granger, IA

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
