"The overall process went well. I had 10 windows and a sliding door installed all in 1 day. The installers showed up on time, greeted me at my front door. I showed them which windows and sliding door were to be replaced. The installers were very knowledgeable of the task at hand. The lead installer let me know after replacing the windows that 1 of my screens were missing, so he called into his office to report the issue."

"Kevin responded immediately to look at possible sheathing damage to our home on the ocean. We were in Florida at the time we called. He was so responsive that he went out of his way to look at the home the day I called him. Communicating by phone while on a ladder, he pulled some of the siding off the home and was able to find extensive water damage underneath the siding. We were so impressed with his effort we decided to fly North to meet with him to review the damage and map out a repair plan. Kevin was able to demonstrate to us as well as our insurance company that there was significant water damage to the sheathing. This damage was due to improper construction of the home by the original contractor including the windows, the wrong vapor barrier, etc. Kevin was so effective in his diagnosis that the insurance company was willing to honor an insurance claim. Becaue of Kevin's professionalism and expert diagnosis we decided to move forward with him as a contractor to remove most of the siding on the home, replace the windows, sheathing, and vapor barrier. Kevin worked closely with us on the scope of the work needed and the cost of his work proved to be very fair. He took full ownership of the project and did an excellent job of keeping us informed of any further work he deemed necessary. Kevin turned out to be the perfect contractor for our project. As we live in Florida and travel extensively, we found we could trust Kevin to do exactly what he said he would do, including having full access to our home despite us not being there. He proved to be completely reliable and a very honest contractor, treating our home as he would his own. As well, Kevin was very easy to work with including any changes we wanted to make. He was always available to talk to about the project. His projected completion time proved to be pretty accurate. He ran about a week or so longer than originally planned. That turned out to be for reasons beyond his control. The quality of his work was beyond reproach. He is very conscientious and takes enomous pride in his work. We would recommend him without reservation for any such project.....we are great fans of Kevin."

"<p>Chris is Matt's brother and I lucked out getting him for the install, which he performed exceptionally well.  Not only was he a great guy to chat with and learn from but his attention to detail was meticulous.  I knew I had a good company when they walked in with blankets and a vacuum cleaner, even though I already had both prepositioned.  Chris has been doing installs for about 30 years and has the old school craftsman's philosophy:  he is there until the job is completed correctly.  This was evident when the mirror was a little too large and he had to take it back to the shop to grind some off on a Fri afternoon.  Chris not only cleaned up as he went but he also offered to clean up for his predecessors!  He treats your place like his place, not like it was just another job.</p> <p>The only challenge I encountered was on getting a contract signed after Matt estimated the job.  Matt provided a detailed quote with images so you could visualize what you'd get, unlike some other companies.  Matt came out personally and took very careful measurements but then I had some Professional Building Services (my General Contractor (GC)) timeline and scheduling challenges after the GC had to have several call backs to correct deficiencies.  This was not Matt's fault but I did have to follow up with Matt several times.  I was wondering what the service and end result would be if I found Traynor unresponsive as a prospective client, which is arguably the client base they are most responsive to.  My concerns proven unfounded.  </p> <p>Bottom line is that these guys did an exceptional job and the end result is certainly the best part of my new bathroom.</p> <p>   </p> <br />"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Greenland, NH

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
