Customers say: Quick response

"Retired contractor here; chatted with a half-dozen companies about re-screening our 20-year old 2nd storey back porch and John w/Presto Screens was the only one that didn't list all the reasons he couldn't do what I asked. Dude is one hard working fellow and does excellent work. Very fair pricing and good communication. Highly recommended."

"I was contacted and promptly scheduled for a garbage disposal replacement. The pros contacted me the day before to remind me of my appointment time and contacted me again 30 mins prior to arrival to let me know they were on time as planned. The pro arrived and was courteous and professional. They followed COVID protocol and handled the job efficiently. I’m working from right now so I needed the pro to execute the work while taking care to make as little noise as possible. The pro was AWESOME! Payment was easy and just like that the pro completed the work, cleaned up behind himself and left me happy and satisfied!"

"They did a fine job at cleaning the glass. However, they removed the screens and left, with without cleaning them or re-installing. The screens had quite a bit of dust and they told me that they could spray them off but they would never be clean because they were aluminum. Also said that they would be back later to finish the job. While they were gone I took a scrub brush and a bit of water and had all the dust and dirt off in under 2 minutes per screen. In my opinion they just wanted to squeeze in another job that day and never intended to come back. I never heard from them again. If all you want is a window washed they are fine, anything else look elsewhere. And yes the screens were in the bid."

"was great and professional. mobile like the name states, comes to your home.  Even asked about a possible screen for a storm door in the front and he was very knowledgeable and could even do a custom solution to accommodate.  Definitely use again.  First time user of Angie's List and I am very happy. <br />"

"Matt was genuinely nice and helpful through the whole process.  They did a great job on the roof replacement and dealt with my insurance company for me.  They even found extra damage that the insurance adjuster didn't, and had them come back out to include that in our claim. <br />"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Guthrie, OK

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
