"Blue Sky was prompt, professional and worked hard at repairing the exterior of our chimney. Owner Dave also helped convince our insurance carrier that the damage to the interior flue was caused by a small chimney fire; our carrier agreed with his findings and reimbursed us for the estimated cost of repair."

"We live in a 100 year old house. The rafters in our original roof broke and we had a mess. We wanted to repair the structure and re-roof with metal because it's lighter. I went around our neighborhood and talked to 5 neighbors that had metals roofs and eventually landed on Northrup. However, it didn't go well. They did the repair right away, but it sat there, naked, for weeks. I had to hound them - I think because they were waiting on a subcontractor maybe. Finally, they came and did it on a weekend. Fast forward one year - some of the trim didn't get done near the dormer and the little roof over the front door. Mark White came out and fixed it immediately. Fast forward another year, discovered the top-level bathroom fan didn't get vented. HOWEVER!!!! Mark White busted his butt to make it right. The employee that managed the project is no longer there, but Mark really worked at making sure we were happy. I have to give Mark credit for tolerating my nagging and being not-so-happy with all the issues, yet making sure everything was corrected. The work and repairs were top shelf once everything got done. I'm not sure I would hire again after all this. I suspect it had something to do with the previous employee. Maybe there are new project managers now that are more on top of things."

"Replacing a roof and gutters is a major project and finding the right roofing company was very important to me. I met with a number of different companies and finally decided on CHI (Craftsman Home Improvement). They didn’t just come look at the roof and send me a proposal instead they came looked at the roof and spent over an hour with me explaining the process working with me on how to improve the gutters so the flow would be better for my property. This did not mean more expensive gutters just a Different installation from previous. Once I contracted with them the project manger reached out to set up a start date. The team that came out to do the job was both professional and efficient. They did a great job. I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a new roof. They also coordinated with the team doing some chimney repairs on my house which was extremely helpful to me."

"Lindus Construction did an excellent job on our roof replacement and light tube installation. We appreciated their communication during the project and the on site crew was fabulous. Hard working, excellent teamwork, got whole project done in one day and did an excellent job of cleaning up the site. Would definitely recommend them."

"These two guys called ahead to alert me they were 20 mins out, showed up on time, and were super clean - took off their shoes and laid down protective coverings on my hardwood floors. They did a thorough inspection outside and in and allowed me to watch their live camera inspection so there would be no surprises later, i.e. photo-shopped pics of my debilitated chimney. These guys couldn't have been more professional, friendly or knowledgeable - they gave me options for the future and capped off my chimney with a steel cap so that no rain or chimney swifts or other small animals come inside while I'm waiting to begin the work. I need a new steel liner and I knew this needed to be completed so there were no surprises. My housing inspector (not a great one) had recommended Jack Pixley for the job. Turns out Jack Pixley has been dead for over 4 years and his one-time great company is doing shoddy work. His son now runs 2nd Generation chimney. No Pixley's own or work for Jack Pixley. So if someone recommends Jack Pixley, go with a real Pixley and call 2nd Generation Chimney. These two did not sugar-coat what I was looking at spending should I rebuild the chimney. They gave me alternatives for inserts that are way cheaper than repairing the original structure, gave me the pros and cons of both jobs, and did NOT try to sell me ANYTHING. As a new homeowner, whom everyone and their uncle is attempting to sell something to, I appreciate this approach. They are also CSIA certified and that bears weight with me - I value my home enough to go the extra mile in ensuring it is protected by having specialists perform the work. I will definitely go with them when the time comes. I trust them and that is often worth $$$ to me. <br />"

"The inspector was professional and provided excellent feedback on the original construction, quality of materials and the current condition. He came in with drop cloths and did the visual inspection. He setup his equipment and completed the video work. After reviewing the video recordings, he provided his analysis. As it turned out, the fireplaces and chimney stack were in excellent condition and built very well. No repair issues or concerns to discuss. He was very knowledgeable about fireplaces and related topics. No cleaning was required. He left no evidence of his visit (debris or smudges). This home was a recent purchase and we needed to know if the fireplaces are safe to use. <br />"

"We live in a 1 1/2 story 1920 house that had a metal ridge vent. I had a leak that basically stained my tile ceiling in the upstairs bedroom. I tried to figure out where it came from and tried to seal it myself but had no luck. <br /> We called one company in - I don't remember who, and it was a nightmare. He basically ripped us off. He didn't do an estimate of services, went on the roof, hammered a few nails in then charged us for it. Didn't fix the leak. <br /> Because of this bad experience (and a different roof leak that failed to be fixed properly by a different contractor) I came into this project pretty nervous about who would do the work. I talked to a few contractors and settled on Coates. <br /> The team was great. Courteous, professional, patient with questions. They were OK with letting me get on the roof with them to talk to them about what they were doing. <br /> They removed the existing vent, removed shingles, installed boards, ice and water barrier and reroofed with a new ridge vent. <br /> The leak is gone. I'm very happy with the work and would recommend them to anyone. <br />"

"The work went very well. The insert and chimney pipe was installed in approximately 6 hours from the time the workers arrived until the job was complete. They were punctual and professional*. The only complaint on the job was the electricians that ran the power to the fire box did not clean up completely**(see below) after there work was complete but this was a minor point in the overall installation process. <br /> I highly recommend Woodland Stoves and Fireplaces. <br /> The main reason we installed the insert was the tile liner in our chimney was badly damaged. In order to have a fire our options were to replace the Chimney, re-line the chimney or install an insert. We chose the insert because it was less expensive than re-lining the chimney and included a very energy effecient wood burning insert. <br /> This is the second winter with the insert. The insert works great, the furnace does not run when when we have a fire, saving money and the wood fire does not it does not over heat the house. The insert is located in a room 15' x 24'. <br /> Besides the benefit of effecient heat the cracked tile in the old chimney lead to a very strong smokey smell on humid days in the spring, summer, fall. That smell is gone! When the insert is installed the chimney is 'sealed' off from the living area with insulation so eliminating the flow of air through the chimney into the house. <br /> Woodland Stove did a good job of recommending the best inserts for our home. They ask detailed questions about the room it will be in, the size of the house, and why we wanted an insert. They ended up recomending a selection of gas and wood burning inserts. We chose the VC Montpelier because if fit was the best fit for our home and we wanted to burn wood. <br /> They have been very supportive of the product through both email and phone calls when there were questions. <br /> Again, I highly recommend Woodland Stoves and Fireplaces. <br /> *Woodland uses their own own National Fireplace Institute certified employees for installing the insert/stove and chimney pipe. They also have a master gas fitter if installing a gas insert. <br /> **Overall Installation - Our house is over 100 years old and the electricians had to drill through close to 2' of brick and mortar to reach the firebox. I think it took a little longer than expected. This was a very good thing because the first company we talked to about an insert said the wiring for a wood insert could not be in the firebox, i.e. they would run a wire from the insert to a wall plug. This would have been less expensive but would have looked very tacky so overall very happy with the installation. <br /> ==and gt;and gt;Woodland is very familiar with all the codes and worked with us to make sure we were happy with the installation. <br />"
