"Rudy, the owner of All American Paving, cleaned, re-paved, and re-striped our 28-unit apartment complex parking lot and did an excellent job. His communication was great and he made the process as easy as possible on our tenants. There was a hiccup or two along the way but Rudy quickly took care of the issues and now we have a beautifully paved parking lot. Thank you Rudy."

"J Warden and Sons has over 40 yrs experience and equipment to do anything. I called them based on a referral and Gene called me back that afternoon. That same evening he came over to to a site inspection and talk about what my concerns were for the project (which I had) I had just finished building a small garage in my back yard and we had to attached the new driveway to the apron, Level off several areas including one in particular. Then install 2 small retaining walls next to the home for a nice 'Finished look' <br /> I have never written a review before. Usually you get what you pay for and move on. I had a particular vision in mind when I explained the project to Gene Warden and he exceeded my expectations. (hence my first written review) Gene is a third generation paver, representing the company well. Gene's demeanor, willingness to cooperation was such a breath of fresh air. His workers were punctual, professional, demonstrating the attention to detail I requested even though it was a much smaller job than they were accustom too. They also do concrete, seal coating and Hardscapes (which they a particularity so good at it is taking his business to another level. I witnessed this. <br /> I will refer business to Gene at J Warden and Sons in the future. Dependable, Honest with great workers that care and have integrity you can see. Yes, he might be old school but where I come from a handshake goes a long way. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"The team was easy to schedule and showed up as planned. They worked quickly and cleared the debris the came out of gutters away from the house, off of the sidewalks, back deck, etc. Gutters are now working as they should."

"Owner/installer very pleasant; job was done well and on time .Prices are competitive. It took several phone calls and email messages to finally get the warranty(about 7 weeks after the work was done). The need to keep calling/email as it took more than one call/email to get a response colored the whole experience. Had the warranty been given at the time of work was completed, I would have given them an "A"."

"They completely dug out where they were going to lay the asphalt. The crew was here on time and they didn't leave a mess when they were finished. We had them come out another time and they did our complete driveway, which was pretty good sized. They did an excellent job on that also. The men were good to work with and the price was reasonable."

"The workers were excellent. They worked hard all day in oppressive heat and completed the job in a timely fashion with great results. When our family got together for Memorial Day they exclaimed about whole smooth the ride into the driveway was and how great it looks. I was so pleased with the job so well done! Thank-you for the McGhee Concrete team that not only met our deadline but exceeded it and the end result was superior. Mary Landon"

"Wonderful. Chad arrived on time. We walked around the house so I could show him a few things. The job took an hour or so. When he was done we walked around the house again so he could be sure I was satisfied, which I was. Price was good and the job coubldn't have been done better or more professionally"

"I wasn t real pleased with the results I got from them. They didn t get all the gravel up that existed there before and there were some spots where grass had come up through the asphalt. They are a pretty well known outfit, but I felt I could have gotten better results for the price I paid."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Hampton, VA

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
