"Dean is the real deal. We had a complicated bathroom remodel. A remodel plan that I changed a couple of times along the way. He is super patient and the work was beyond expectations. I will be asking Dean to help with future projects. I highly recommend Dean to assist with your future projects and already have recommended him to close friends. Thanks Dean!!!"

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

"We hired Burry's Waterproofing several months ago to install a sump pump/waterproofing system in our basement since we noticed several leaks coming at the basement floor. Mr. Burry was extremely knowledgeable in the issues we were having and provided an excellent explanation as to why it was occurring and of the work to be performed and what we should expect afterwards. He also provided an informational packet that included a description of the warranty he provides for his services, which is exceptional. We sought out several estimates for this job and felt most at ease with Mr. Burry, not to mention his pricing is very competitive. His work crew was top notch and extremely courteous. I decided to wait several months to write this review so as to provide an accurate idea of how well the basement is staying dry. Prior to Mr. Burry's waterproofing, our basement would get water in it whenever we had heavy rain or rain that lasted a few days. In the 9 months or so since completion, we haven't found one drop of water in the basement. Moreover, the basement air feels cleaner and dryer. We are so pleased that we got it done! Aside from the quality of the work, sitting down to learn about basement waterproofing with Mr. Burry was a nice experience. As a first time homebuyer trying to "do all my homework" prior to making updates to my home, it felt like sitting down with someone who really cared about making our home a better place because he cared about us as people. That's something money can't buy. Thanks, Mr. Burry!"

"? HOMEOWNER BEWARE ? Avoid This Company I hired Gallo?s Kitchen & Bath Design (Pt. Pleasant), also operating as FixT Construction, LLC (Brick), to order new cabinet doors and drawer fronts, paint them a custom color, and build uppers to take the cabinets to the ceiling. The project was supposed to take one week.It has now been three months, and the job is still not finished. They sell you on their 20+ years experience but farm all the work out. Gallo does not have an in?house team. All work is subcontracted Anthony and Dan rarely show up and never lift a hand to fix any of the issues just blame the workers. The management & workmanship has been terrible. The cabinet doors were sent back three times. The first 2 times, they were rolled with paint rollers, finally sent 3rd time for spray finish but no lacquer. Doors had damage. Basic cabinetry knowledge lacking. garbage pull?out was sent back to us as a standard cabinet door with hinges same with spice rack. Work still not completed."

FAQs for attic remodeling projects in Hanover, PA

A loft conversion turns your unused attic or loft into a functional living space, like a bedroom or home office. Adding walls, ceilings, lighting, and even plumbing seamlessly integrates the new room with the rest of your home. It's a practical way to expand your living area and boost your property's value.

A loft is a finished and integrated living space created by converting an attic, while an attic is an isolated, unfinished area under the roof. The loft conversion process installs proper walls, ceilings, and utilities, transforming the space into a usable room that adds value to the home. In contrast, an attic remains largely unmodified and is typically reserved for storage.

Planning permission is required for a loft conversion because the project alters the structure and must meet strict building codes. A building permit, costing between $500 and $3,000, and mechanical permits, costing between $10 and $500 each, are mandatory. This regulatory process ensures safety, adherence to design standards, and the home's overall integrity during conversion.

A loft conversion takes several weeks because the project involves multiple phases, from design to finishing. The process requires careful planning, obtaining permits, executing structural changes, installing utilities, and completing final decorative work to ensure the converted area meets building codes and the homeowner’s requirements.

Choosing an alternative project instead of a loft conversion can be advantageous when a less complex project's return on investment is higher. Homeowners may opt for improvements like upgrading doors, windows, or adding a deck because these projects demand lower overall costs and fewer structural changes. Such alternatives can enhance home value and functionality with a more streamlined process.
