"I had searched Angie's List  and selected 5 providers to interview, not including Power, mostly because Power is not located in our immediate area. But a day or two later a knock of our front door by a young man who  made a brief but very impressive presentation on Power resulted in an appointment with a sales rep. the following day.  The rep., Daniel Welsh, was  well prepared with an extremely professional presentation including samples of materials and answers to all the questions we had.  Including the time he spent in the attic, measuring the exterior, etc. he was here almost 5 hours.  Although, it is pricy, It seemed to be a very stable company (checked ratings, etc. on the web after Daniel left.).  The final factor in the decision was that Power does not require a down payment, mid-point payment or any payment until the work is finished and you are satisfied. There was a minor scheduling glitch that didn't cause any inconvienence but otherwise all went well and the finished product looks quite nice.  The one small issue that came up with the front gutter a day or two after installation was addressed within 24 hours. They do contract with local firms which said they had Power traininc,  wore Power tee shirts and hats and preformed efficiently and answered any questions we asked appropriately  Yes, we would consider them for future projects.

"Open Air Escapes build a 35' composite deck for my home—22' of it covered with a roof and ceiling fan—and the experience was outstanding. Buddy and his team stood out for their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and professionalism. I had multiple quotes, but after speaking with Buddy, I knew he was the right choice. The crew was skilled, efficient, and even worked through freezing temps to stay on schedule. Despite some county-related hiccups, Buddy handled everything smoothly and kept me updated throughout. The deck is solid, beautiful, and built to last—this is not your average deck. It’s PREMIUM quality through and through. Open Air Escapes exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking exceptional work and a dependable team."

"We got several estimates from local companies.  Stuart provided a list of homes for which he completed vinyl siding and/or windows and trim.  We looked at most of them and talked with some customers. He has added vinyl to about 100 homes where we live.  He provided a quote and considered the colors and materials we preferred.  He was available on a continuous basis, often dropping by the site to check on progress and any needs. Former customers praised his company for continuing to monitor his completed jobs and respond to any concerns of previous customers, stating "He won't leave the job until it is completed to both his satisfaction and your satisfaction."His brother ran and worked with the "on site" crew and has experience in all facets of construction and remodeling, including window work and plumbing. They were on time and worked long hours to stay on schedule; only missing several days rained out. They cleaned up the site each day and when completed. We constantly had questions about our satisfaction and Stuart added more contracts from his exchanges with those who stopped by. You cannot beat this experience.

"Great! He arrived on time, with the right amount of crew, tools and positive attitude! He was very experienced with Ikea cabinets and knew when we had purchased the wrong items. He also knew when to send me back to Ikea for different parts. Ikea made alot of mistakes and he knew that was common. He wrote down the numbers of the items i needed which was extremely helpful. He and his crew were fantastic and i would hire him again in the future. His prices were very reasonable and i appreciated that. I had two glass doors that were on back order so he said i could hold back $200 from his pay until they czme in. I called him on Sunday and told him i just picked them up. He told me they would be there on Monday morning to finish the job. Of course he arrived on time and he finished the job quickly. Of the 4 companies i hired to do various things in my kitchen his was the only one i didnt have issues with. I asked him to install the lights inside and underneath the cabinets and install the microwave. The lights were difficult but he worked hard until they were done. They make the whole kitchen shine! He was extremely reasonable with the microwave installation price. I asked him for several cards and already passed them out to people that wanted a new kitchen i told them he is the best installer i ever hired. He made this overwhelming project so much easier."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Hanover, VA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
