Jan 7 was one of the coldest days, temps in the low 20's, and I knew that the strip heat would be operating and had some concerns that the diagnosing could be masked by the temperature. Upon arrival we discussed the concern I was experiencing. His initial review was of the programmable thermostat to ensure it had been properly set. He then diagnosed the operation of the inside and outside unit. He determined that the heat pump did not have an outdoor thermostat installed and the wiring to the inside thermostat had been incorrectly connected which caused the unit to <strong><em>always </em></strong>run in the auxiliary strip heat mode. Dwayne corrected the problem and we discussed the manual process which needed to occur to switch to strip heat during frigid weather. In addition to performing this service he adjusted the refrigerant charge to ensure efficiency. <br /> I will use Mead services in the future for my heating/air needs. I found them to be reliable and very informative in addressing my concerns. Dwayne was very courteous and professional while on site. He finished my service late in the evening, around 8:00 pm, and I thanked him for coming out. He mentioned he still had several more service calls that he had been swamped due to the frigid temps.
