"Uriel and his crew are a dream come through. I have been burned my many contactors in the past but Uriel is absolutely the best I have ever dealt with. He communicated daily, started work and finished quicker than I could have imagined. He texted me every morning when the crew was showing up. Sent me pictures on the progress and was quick to point items out during the process. They did an outstanding job and cleaned up everything when they completed. I bought a mid century home and we have a laundry list of future work. I will keep Uriel on speed dial. He is simply amazing. Thank you Uriel!!"

"We were looking for a contractor to install new doors from the kitchen/bedroom to the outside patio.  The original doors were metal and rusting badly.  We found the doors that we wanted (fiberglass) at a local store, but we needed someone to remove the old doors and install the new doors. <br /> We got names of contractors that the store provided and I contacted them immediately for a quote.  We made appointments for both, but they never showed up.  Not a good sign. <br /> We found Gonzalez Carpentry on Angie's List and I gave Gus a call.  We made an appointment, and Gus arrived right on time. <br /> He gave us a quote for the doors and we agreed to the quote. <br /> Gus and his carpenters showed up on time and did a very good job with the doors.  We did have one small problem with one of the doors, but Gus came back quickly and fixed the problem. <br /> We were also considering changing out our counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms.  Gus recommended that we check with a local granite/tile store, so we went there and picked out our new counter top material and back-splash tile. <br /> Gus was acting as the general contractor for the counter-top company and plumbers.  We had a few problems with the counter-top company, but a few phone calls to Gus, and things got back on track. <br /> Gus was very responsive to our needs and he looked out for us by discussing our concerns with the other contractors.. <br /> Gonzales Carpentry isn't the cheapest contractor in the area, and I knew that going into the projects.  However, the cheapest isn't usually the best, and we wanted quality workmanship. <br /> Gus provided quality workmanship and a high level of professionalism. <br /> I would highly recommend hiring Gus Gonzalez for for any home or business projects that you may have.  If Gus doesn't have the expertise for certain projects, he knows reputable people that can, and he will ensure that the work is done in a professional manner. <br />"

"Work went very well...Jennifer (and Steve) were extremely helpful with advice and suggestions for the remodel. They were very understanding regarding our budget and decorating tastes. Replaced cabinets and bathtub tile surrounds in 2 bathrooms. In the kitchen, new cabinets, quartz counter top and tile back splash were installed. New vinyl flooring installed throughout entire house. All the workmen were courteous, respectful and cleaned up after themselves. It was a pleasure working with Romans and we are extremely pleased with the outcome...would certainly use them again."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Harlingen, TX

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
