Customers say: True professional

"Where do I begin? Mario and his crew were punctual and efficient, executed all of the work agreed upon, allowed us to add work while he was here, cleaned up after themselves everyday, virtually took no breaks and our work was over multiple days in the heat later summer and early summer with tons of rain. They even blew off my patio with the leaf blower without me asking. He and his crew smile and always seem to go the extra mile. I would hire him again (and will later this fall) in a heartbeat. Oh yeah....he beat other landscapers prices significantly. I have had 4 landscapers over the years and every one of them would show up late and sometimes not at all, try to cut corners, and would get irritated or flat out refuse if we asked them a question or discussed if we could adjust something at added cost to ourselves. Mario is nothing like that and he is willing to work with his clientele to give them what they want. In a time when it’s difficult to find people who want to do a job and do it well, Mario and his crew made the entire process easy and a pleasure. The results were fantastic."

"I needed help finding extra hands for my in-laws in another state as requested by my mother-in-law. Affordable Lawn Care was very prompt and communicative about getting out to the property and providing an estimate. Despite a very fair and reasonable price, my father-in-lawn declined the help and still wanted to do the work himself. Lesson learned: don't get in between your in-laws! I would definitely hire Affordable Lawn Care if given the chance. It was pleasant just getting a professional response back in a timely manner compared to other people I contacted"

"These guys were amazing. Curt came out to survey the project then got back to us with a quote and software design visual in a timely manner. (Note: the other companies we approached did not offer the software visual - so important to understanding what you are paying for - and did not get back to us in a timely manner. One company didn't bother to follow up at all.) What made part of our project a little unusual is that we were asking them to complete a six foot landscape wall we had begun several years ago and had not gotten around to finishing. They used what materials we already had on site, adding their own to blend in as necessary, and made the area look 100x better than it had previously. They also installed a beautiful paver walkway, small raised bed flower area with stone walls, a paver pad for our trash cans, and drainage tile with pop-up drain for heavy rains that siphoned the water away from the garage, with mulch and river stone as design elements. The crew was also polite, professional, on time and neat. It was obvious they took great pride in their work. We cannot recommend Creech Landscaping too highly. We would definitely hire them again!"

"Work crew arrived promptly, removed old retaining wall.  An attractive landscaping block wall was built, finishing the project in just one and one-half days.  Also, they reattached the external sump pump drainage pipe, rerouting around the garden (not through) :) I'm very pleased with their work.  "

"I am a (relatively) new home owner of an older brick home. I was told by another contractor that the entire outside of my house was in need of tuck-pointing (he would give me a "deal" of $1800). I was referred to Paul Tensing by a neighbor who had Tensing do some work on her house and  suggested I give them a call. Paul came right out at exactly the time he said, looked at my entire house and said I in fact did NOT need any tuck pointing , that it is just the way the house was built and was in great shape. I did have a few places where the mortar had come loose due to shifting of the house so he filled those along with a crack on my back steps and some minor cracks in the foundation and sidewalk.  Mark Tensing actually did the work and he was great too; told me if I had any other concerns he would come right back and fix them. <br /> Paul's wife Amy was my first contact when I called. She is so friendly and helpful and makes a wonderful first impression!I would absolutely use Tensing Contractors again and recommend them highly."

"Joe and his crew showed up early one morning and took down three trees in my yard, completely ground out the stumps, back filled and seeded. There was not a leaf left on the lawn when they were done.  They cut a new border around an old bed making it easier to mow and filled in all the low spots in the yeard where previous plumbing work had left deep holes. A few days later he came back out and checked the seeding and added more. <br /> I recommend Joe Doyle and Liberty Landscape Management to anyone needing tree removal, landscape, or new driveway. He shows great pride in his work. <br />"

"From the beginning everything with Steve was very good.  He was very professional when he came to our house for a free estimate and his crew was hard working and professional during their time here.  The project hit a bit of a snag due to weather, they did the demolition and forming one day and due to rain had to come back early the next week to pour and finish the concrete.  Steve was great with the delay and did his best to get here and finish the job as soon as possible.  It has rained hard since the pad was poured and the drain was installed and it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do!  Quality of work was excellent, and everything about the job was great.  I would definitely recommend Steve and his crew for your concrete needs! <br />"

"First of all i spoke with a lot of guys that are in this field of work. I feel like its a sales "Cat and mouse " game with them all for the exception of Across town foundation co. They are so laid back what a great feeling  ZERO pressure.  The price was amazing . The work started early and the guys stayed on it hard till the end of the day. The job took three days and my house is back to it proper placement. Now i dont have to take money off when we sell. Im sure they saved me $10,000 in the long run.  Thanks so much for your hard work! <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Harrison, OH

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
