"Mr. Douglas came out in a timely manner to see the repairs needed and gave us an estimate within a couple of days as he said he would which we felt was reasonable. We were very pleased with the work he did for us and would certainly call him again for future repairs if needed. "

"The owner arrived and I showed him which windows were busted and needed the glass replaced and which windows needed screens. Some didn't have screens at all, some just had damaged screens. Once I gave them the and quot;go ahead, and quot; they were there quickly to replace the broken glass in my windows. As soon as my screens were complete, he was right back out to install those. He cleaned up after himself and my home looks much better, and I'm saving money on the heating/cooling. <br />"

"My wife and I bought a retirement home in Ocean Springs that was flooded by Katrina.  The home was under 5 feet of water and unoccupied for years.  We solicited several quotes and Emmitt Christie's (Just Fix It) was by far the most competitive.  We were located in Columbus, Ohio during the duration of the remodeling (May 2013-Sept. 2013).  Because we were not familiar with the area or contractors in the Misssissippi Gulf Coast, I was apprehensive about hiring and trusting any company to take care of our investment, especially since we weren't there.    However, that all changed with Emmitt.  We could tell him what we wanted done, when we want it done and he would give us a very good price for the job.  We could trust Emmitt to do the job right, on time and without us being there.  Although his price and quality of work was very good,  the fact that we could trust him is what makes him very valuable.  Some of the work that he performed on our home included:  New roof, new wiring, new drywall, some new plumbing, installed kitchen cabinets and counters, bathroom vanitys, designed and installed a new slate walk-in shower, built a deck, installed electrical panel boxes, ceiling lights and fans throughout the home and converted the garage into a den and laundry room.  The bottom line is I would highly recommend Emmitt's company, Just Fix It, for any job, big or small. <br />"

"I looked up "The Handymen" in Angie's List. I called Ron White of The Handymen company. He was easy to reach on the phone. Within a few hours Ron arrived to scope the job. Ron's professionalism was evident immediately. He described what he would do and how he would do it. I realized that he had chosen the most cost effective option of repairing the door. He said it would take a couple of hours. Not knowing his hourly rate for labor I requested an estimate. When I got the estimate, which was after a day or two, I realized his labor rate was higher than I am used to paying. But it was all well worth it. He had a hired help with him. Both men worked hard and efficiently. I got a quality job done to my satisfaction. <br /> It took Ron longer that two hours to complete the job, but he did not charge me more."

"Within (1) week, Mr. Jenkins and his crew were onsite. They were always there by 7am each morning and usually gone by 6. They cleaned up behind themselves daily. I was in awe at the speed to which the room was added but absolutely amazed at how the room didn't look any different than my mobile home from the ouside or inside, Mr. Jenkins and his crew made sure the colors matched perfectly and the new roof looked great. I was very impressed that they didn't just "attach" a room, but instead pulled the siding off my home and tied in the new room with new siding and the new roof. They did all the electrical work, interior and exterior paint work, laid hard wood flooring, installed the windows and new roof. I was just very pleased with their work. Mr. Jenkins and his crew were very professional, cleaned up after themselves and finished relatively quick. My little boy is very happy with his very own room!! FYI: The closet they built was very large and had lots of shelves. <br />"

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Harrisville, MS

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
