"Last night we hired Redo Cabinets to do a kitchen remodel. We chose them because of their excellent reviews and ratings from Google, Home Advisor and Better Business Bureau. We were very happy with the professionalism of their sales team and the thoroughness of their presentation. We look forward to the project starting in late July and we will post another review after they complete the installation. We are confident that it will go well because of the excellent follow up already received 12 hours later from Alex in their production department. Thanks to Brad, Thomas and to Chris for walking us through the front end of this process."

"He called and made an appointment for an estimate within days of sending a request. This was the second project I have contracted with him. This time it was a dry bar that he re faced with glass front cabinets. I am changing all the oak cabinets in my condo to maple. His schedule is busy..because he is so talented. His work is perfect. Always adding touches I would of never thought of to finish off the look. I have been very pleased with all his work. <br />"

"I was pleased with CT Refinishing's work. They were considerably less expensive than another refinisher that I had contacted. While they were a little late picking up the piece (half hour?), they had warned they might be. I would definitely use them again. <br />"

"I called Apple Painting regarding bedroom wallpaper removal, painting of the bedroom walls, ceiling, closet, and main hallway.. Due to the age of the wallpaper (25 years old) I knew it would be a job to remove. Apple Painting had a crew of two at our home, and the wallpaper was completely removed within 3 hours. Wall patching was required and finished. The next day when they returned to paint the bedroom ceiling a yellow color started to show through. They suggested repainting the ceiling with an oil primer to hide the yellow, and then repaint with the ceiling white. My husband and I had intended to paint the kitchen, half bath and hallway ceilings on our own but were now concerned that we might have the the same issue. Our simple two day job was now stretching into 4 days. Knowing that they had a 2 month job starting the following week Apple Painting was up to the task, and was more than happy to do the extra work for us. Their crew, Jose and Luis, did an excellent job. They were always on time, pleasant, friendly, and diligent in getting the work done. Our home was kept clean during and after the work was completed. My initial contact was with Jeff. He spent time with me on the phone offering suggestions, and truly wanting to help us get the work done. We're putting our home up for sale this fall, and time was of the essence. Jeff was the only contractor that made time for us during this extremely busy time. We so appreciate Jeff and his crew, and would definitely use them again in the future. They did an excellent job for us, and we are extremely satisfied."

"I was remodeling my bathroom and didn't want to have to replace an almond tub and surround that was in good shape. John came out and in less than 24 hours, changed the color to a more contemporary white. Great guy to work with. Very happy with the results."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Hartford, WI

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
