"I had an old water heater (was in the house when I moved in about 20 years ago) and it started to leak. After shutting off the water to the water heater, I did a little Angie's List research to find a company to do the replacement. I called a couple and decided to use Randy Lane, based on cost and my interaction with them, which I felt was cordial and helpful, and made an appointment.
The service person arrived on time on the day of the appointment and went to work. He disconnected the old heater and hauled it out. The new heater was brought in and he did the needed plumbing work to connect the water and also made the natural gas connections. He fired up the unit and briefed me on the new unit - how to turn-off the water and gas, if needed, temperature, etc.
The area was left in the same condition as when he arrived.

"I purchased a range from Best Buy and the first company that came to deliver it installed it improperly. It also had a defect so when MN plumbing and appliance came out to install the new range they noticed the first one wasn't installed up to code etc. They couldn't install the new range with the existing hardware from previous job so they rescheduled the entire job, delivery and proper installation, for a day when they had more time. "Replacing the staircase light fixture was a difficult job requiring the use of a ladder, a step ladder and an aluminum plank to create a level workspace in order to access the light. The new pendant was lowered by 6 inches, compared to the old one, to allow easy exchange of light bulbs. The electrician was creative in solving some installation problems.  He also saved me some money by advising me that some other electrical work I was considering might not be necessary."
