"I had a small but complicated, hard to access, and structurally essential repair job on a 60-year-old concrete deck attached to my 280-year-old Pennsylvania limestone farmhouse. I contacted several masons listed for my area on Home Advisor, and included Mr. Grady as a long shot -- I read about his expertise with historical structures and wished I had access to such an expert craftsman, but I didn't think he'd be interested in my teeny job and assumed I wouldn't be able to afford him anyway. He was the first one to return my call and to look at the job, and I thought his price was fair. I believe now it was way more than fair, considering the time he spent. He did extensive research, going over a structural engineer's report I had done previously on the deck and even examining the original architectural drawings and materials invoices from 1959. He showed up at least three times to complete the repair in stages, and has been back a half a dozen times since then to check the job -- and my location is not exactly in his neighborhood. He accepted only enough payment in advance to pay for lodging for himself and his assistant when they stayed nearby one night in order to be there early the next morning. He gave and continues to give free advice about preserving my stone house and patio. If you prod him a little, he might even share some of his personal philosophy, earned over a lifetime of work that is clearly more of an art form than a job to him. Overall, I'd say you can hire one of many competent contractors and get an adequate job, or you can hire Mr. Grady and get superior work by someone who cares about your property as much as you do."

"Foundation Experts determined the problem was much greater than current homeowner thought. They brought in a structural engineer to thoroughly examine the foundation and wrote up a detailed report, including extensive photographs, of the problem. They gave a written proposal for potential work to repair the problem according to township code. All of their work (three separate visits plus three detailed reports) was done in an astonishingly compressed time period, which enabled us to meet our required deadline to attempt to continue with purchase of the house, depending on current homeowners willingness to either repair the issues to our satisfaction or give us a purchase credit of the amount proposed by Foundation Experts. Had we not engaged their help, we could have unknowingly bought a house that needs approximately $40,000 worth of structural repair.

"Patrick and his team were wonderful to work with for our stone and brick repointing! They came on time as scheduled for both the quote (which was very fair for the work that needed done) and actual work start date. The work they did looks amazing, and they took care to make the new sections of mortar have the same style as the old sections on our beautiful Victorian. "MCG Construction did an excellent job on repairing the foundation and walls of our garage. Great communication throughout the process. Very professional workmen and great quality work. Their quote and total price for the project was far less than another company that suggested completely demolishing the old garage and building a new one. The final price of MCG's garage work was less than what they estimated it would be, because after removing parts of the garage they discovered there was already a foundation that they could build upon instead of having to excavate and pour a new foundation. Overall a very good experience. I would definitely use them again."

"Requested quote on putting in concrete porch. Received a quote and they started the work the very next day! The Forman was very detailed, in the work the workers were doing. They did an excellent job! What really impressed me too, a young lady in front of the house had a flat tire, the Forman stopped his work, and asked her if he could assist her. "Rightway Waterproofing is the company you want to come and waterproof your basement. I had initially set up a job looking for pros through Angie's List. I was contacted by Rightway Waterproofing via phone and email but did not respond as life happens. Well it rained really heavy again in August and I had more water in the basement. I reached out to them on a Friday and Albert contacted me immediately. They were able to come out on Monday to look at my property. Jake was thorough and friendly. He let me know what he thought we needed, explained everything thoroughly and gave us a quote which was completely reasonable. We accepted the bid and work was to commence on Thurs as they had an opening. Work was completed in one day. The area was kept pristine and they did an amazing job. The crew was courteous to my family. I could not recommend them more. I hope to have them out again at some point to finish my basement area as well. Try to keep in mind that during the season of covid many families are looking for ways to make more space in their homes or to have to home projects done. Jesse, the owner, sent one of his business partners (John) to do a free inspection and estimate on our basement.  John was very nice and extremely knowledgeable.  After inspecting the basement he recommended a dual pressure relief system because of the large number of cracks that were appearing on the walls and on the basement floor.  Our water table here is higher than a lot of other places, and so our foundation was under a good amount of water pressure all around it.

John sent me an estimate, which was deducted by 20% because of a deal that Comfort Basement was offering.  He further deducted another 10% because we were military.  The job was slated for just over 10,000 dollars but ended up being only 7,800.

On the day of the project Brian was sent out with his team of 5-6 men (Brian was the team leader).  They explained everything that they were going to do and made sure that we were ready for it.  They put a plastic barrier up between the basement door and the garage door in order to prevent any dust or particles from getting into the kitchen and dining room.  The project took a total of two days.  Brian kept me informed as to how things were going the entire time.  He even confirmed where I wanted to sump pump drainage pipe to be placed and whether or not I was happy with where it was draining to. 

Brian and his team made sure that my yard was undamaged by the concrete that they were removing.  They also vacuumed and cleaned everything before leaving.  They were all extremely professional and they did an excellent job.  After the project was complete, Brian showed me everything and explained everything to me.  He even left me with some Tyvec tape in case I needed to repair any cut or holes that develop in the vapor barrier.  In the end I was very pleased with the work and would gladly use Comfort Basement to help finish my basement in the future.
