We've since had excessive rain and the repairs have held up and the basement is still dry."

"I had a small but complicated, hard to access, and structurally essential repair job on a 60-year-old concrete deck attached to my 280-year-old Pennsylvania limestone farmhouse. I contacted several masons listed for my area on Home Advisor, and included Mr. Grady as a long shot -- I read about his expertise with historical structures and wished I had access to such an expert craftsman, but I didn't think he'd be interested in my teeny job and assumed I wouldn't be able to afford him anyway. He was the first one to return my call and to look at the job, and I thought his price was fair. I believe now it was way more than fair, considering the time he spent. He did extensive research, going over a structural engineer's report I had done previously on the deck and even examining the original architectural drawings and materials invoices from 1959. He showed up at least three times to complete the repair in stages, and has been back a half a dozen times since then to check the job -- and my location is not exactly in his neighborhood. He accepted only enough payment in advance to pay for lodging for himself and his assistant when they stayed nearby one night in order to be there early the next morning. He gave and continues to give free advice about preserving my stone house and patio. If you prod him a little, he might even share some of his personal philosophy, earned over a lifetime of work that is clearly more of an art form than a job to him. Overall, I'd say you can hire one of many competent contractors and get an adequate job, or you can hire Mr. Grady and get superior work by someone who cares about your property as much as you do."

"We had some issues with an old addition to house shifting. We found that the walls holding it had some damage and seemed to be crumbling.
 I had two firms come out to talk with me before Foundations Experts. One would not even look under the addition, said he had to come back. The other could not fit into the crawlspace and never came back. 
  Nicks guys were great. Went in took pictures asked questions and already knew the grounds from satellite photos. 
 They sent me a detailed report on what the issues were with all the photos. 
  During this time period they had been a lot of rain. My septic tank collapsed due to erosion and a broken pipe. Nick came out to take a look to make sure the house was safe since this is all connected to the addition. The septic tank was repaired. Nick gave me reports and advice on this in trying get insurance coverage even though the septic tank was repaired by another company.
 At this point the foundation work has been put on hold, because of the expense of the repairs to the septic tank. 
 Foundations Experts went way beyond what they had to do even though that got no work out of it at this time. 
 Nick said he will redo the proposals and take a look again when we are ready.

"Pat and his team were, by and large, fantastic. They executed on all aspects of the original quote flawlessly. The ribbon pointing around the stonework, especially in the front part of the house, turned out very nice. We're extremely happy with how the masonry looks. It went so smoothly, we added additional work onto the quote to seal the concrete and touch up paint along the exterior of the house. The painting wasn't as neat or clean as it could have been - it's probably a little step above what I could have done. Mostly importantly, when we encountered a couple of problems along the way, they were responsive and went above and beyond to sort it out. I think they approached the whole project very well, and even worked with us on the price for the add-ons. All-in-all, super solid work from a super solid contractor. Highly recommended."

"MCG Construction did an excellent job on repairing the foundation and walls of our garage. Great communication throughout the process. Very professional workmen and great quality work. Their quote and total price for the project was far less than another company that suggested completely demolishing the old garage and building a new one. The final price of MCG's garage work was less than what they estimated it would be, because after removing parts of the garage they discovered there was already a foundation that they could build upon instead of having to excavate and pour a new foundation. Overall a very good experience. I would definitely use them again."

"We had a shed pad installed for our new shed. Bob really worked to make sure we understood the different types of pads we could get as well as the ground leveling process. He was the only contractor we talked to that put the pad in the ground (excavating some dirt) so that it didn't just sit on top. As an added bonus, he swiped away a patch of really thick ivy that we've been struggling with. When scheduling the pad, he did delay the installation due to weather issues, showing real concern that if we didn't delay at least a day, the installation would be less than the professional level he likes to leave with. I left for the morning to go to work and when I came home, the pad was ready for a shed.
Bob shows a concern for his homeowner's well being in all matters and is very knowledgable. I fully recomend him to anyone seeking a similar install, and will consider Rock-a-fella's when ever I have a gravelly/patio/deck need in the future.

"Requested quote on putting in concrete porch. Received a quote and they started the work the very next day! The Forman was very detailed, in the work the workers were doing. They did an excellent job! What really impressed me too, a young lady in front of the house had a flat tire, the Forman stopped his work, and asked her if he could assist her. "Rightway Waterproofing is the company you want to come and waterproof your basement. I had initially set up a job looking for pros through Angie's List. I was contacted by Rightway Waterproofing via phone and email but did not respond as life happens. Well it rained really heavy again in August and I had more water in the basement. I reached out to them on a Friday and Albert contacted me immediately. They were able to come out on Monday to look at my property. Jake was thorough and friendly. He let me know what he thought we needed, explained everything thoroughly and gave us a quote which was completely reasonable. We accepted the bid and work was to commence on Thurs as they had an opening. Work was completed in one day. The area was kept pristine and they did an amazing job. The crew was courteous to my family. I could not recommend them more. I hope to have them out again at some point to finish my basement area as well. Try to keep in mind that during the season of covid many families are looking for ways to make more space in their homes or to have to home projects done. Overall, Jesse and his team were wonderful to work with.  They were all very respectful and nice.  The team tried to leave as much as the wiring and the floor as possible, as not to demo everything.  In the demolition process, however, some of the screws for the light fixtures went missing (not a terrible thing, but a small hassle).  The whole process took about a week, and the drain and the walls were fixed.  Our house doesn't smell moldy anymore which is a great plus!  Two small things which bothered me slightly after the fact, was that the foreman, Bryan, said he would return a window insert for our basement window, which he hasn't done yet (it keeps air from entering the basement).  Also, instead of unscrewing some piping around the dryer vent, it seems that they have just ripped it out (but that was an easy fix on our end...we just got a new aluminum pipe for the dryer).

The team put plastic sheeting down to protect the furniture on the first floor where they had to come in and out of to get to the basement (we don't have basement access).  They also did a cursory cleaning before they left each day, which I appreciated.  It wasn't a deep clean, but that wasn't expected either. 

Jesse offered, kindly, to help us find some contractors who could help replace the drywall/studs and retile our floor; however, his contacts were all busy and weren't able to help us.  We ended up contacting some contractors through Angie's list to help us return our basement to its finished self. 

It has been about a week and half after the work was completed, and the system seems to be working (and we have had some crazy rain storms).  Although there is a puddle of water that collects around the lid of the sump pump, which worries me slightly.  I have called Jesse to ask him if that's normal, but otherwise the work was well done!
