"The bid process went well.  The man who provided the estimate is a second generation painter and was the only one of all the estimators who knew they needed to use an oil based primer on my walls as I had just had new plaster installed in much of the house.  I always had use of my kitchen, bedroom, bath and living room when the crew left.  The walls. ceiling and trim look great - especially at corners and where the colors change.
However, there were paint spatters on some of my counters, all over my toaster, and inconsistently on some of my hardwood floors.  There was some paint on the furniture (hand smears?), and the handles and faucet of my basement washtub.  The man who estimated the job followed up with me and took care of all the places I pointed out to him, and he stated he has changed out people who were on my crew (6 people the first day, 4 crew the second day, 3 people the third day).  
I just don't understand how my walls, ceiling and trim could look so professional, yet the clean up (paint spatters, paint smears, etc.) be so inconsistent."

"The complete job involved power washing the barn plus prime and two coats of the finish paint on both the barn and windows.  The entire job was accomplished with high quality paint and came out beautifully. The barn is painted in the traditional red and white color scheme however they selected a shade of red, not the typical barn red at the paint supplier, but a red that really enhanced the finished appearance of the barn. "Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
