"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"I rarely write reviews but I feel as though I should after my interaction and business with Mayweather flooring. I was in a hurry to get flooring installed in my newly finished basement and they were able to work it out to where they came out the same day I contacted them for an estimate. Not only that, but they were also able to move their schedule around a little bit to accommodate my rush and complete the project only a few days later. They were also able to do it an amazing price, much less than a couple other estimates that I received. Their communication is great, they are professional and they did a great job on the flooring (LVP and carpet). I would highly recommend them and I will definitely be keeping them in mind for any future projects."

"Adrian of European Flooring truly came to our rescue. After another Angie's list tile installer botched the job and refused to re-do it (costing us $10,000), Adrian showed professionalism, concern and an earnest desire to do the job correctly. He researched the best type and technique to use with the thinset, and worked with us to handle any concerns we had. He always showed up on time, installed the tile himself, was friendly, and most importantly did a beautiful job. He takes pride in his work and rightfully so. I will most definitely use him in the future---I highly recommend him."

"The installation went very smooth and John was very friendly and professional and answered all my questions respectively. He is a master electrician. I rehired him to come back and finish the outlet upgrades to the remaining rooms to a very old house in my renovation project through Angie Lists coupon promotions. I will use Irish Electric in future on my other rental or primary residence properties. I highly recommend."

"Andre and his crew were very polite and professional.  Always on time as promised.  We are currently waiting on shower door installation so job is not quite completed.  I made a couple of changes in the middle (tile direction) and he was always accommodating. He offered is opinion when asked.  We love our shower/tub area - I have such a small bathroom and small budget.  We had to replace all valves/tub/shower faucets move pipes.  He was very nice to work with.  Glad I found him through Angies List.

"This was an experiment for me in use of an interior designer online.  THe consultant was helpful in directing me to useful websites to review products and encouraged me to look widely and that was useful. Otherwise I found it difficult to use her services. The online aspect is one reason - looking at colors, e.g. wall colors and considering them for a particular space is difficult to do given than monitors and lighting change the look of things. Also, one cannot get the sense of e dimensional space from 2 dimensional tools
In addition,  she was only allowed to advise me on one room and I have an open space that includes living, dining and kitchen areas, all of which had to be considered together. It was frustrating that she was not allowed to think about the other spaces when I had to think about all of them together.
The designer pushed me to choose a rug before choosing living room furniture but I preferred to choose the furniture first as it is more difficult to replace.  She was not able to be flexible on this account. Also, when I did not seem interested in buying through their service she seemed to loose interest.
It often took several days for the consultant to get back to me. That is the area where I most fault the individual as opposed to the set up of online consulting.
In the end, I made my own choices and am happy with them. The experience gave me more confidence in my own instincts.

"Richard is excellent! The only problem with Richard is that he is so busy that he still hasn't had time to get on my next project of levelling the floor, installing the heat strips and setting 500 sq ft of 6x36 ceramic tile. He's going to start that next weekend and I'm sure that I will be giving you another review. All joking aside, Richard is very professional. He has very good equipment which says knowledge and success. He priced the job low and still did several extra things that I asked him to do while he was there. He asked for no extra money. Being a business owner myself, I felt that the job was so well done that I increased the total by 30% and still felt that I was underpaying. (Update) First let me say that Richard is an outstanding human being. I would trust him with my wallet. He works very hard to please the Customer. We are doing a complete remodel of our guest house and so far Richard has done the entire bedroom. That includes sheetrock, tile floor, paint and trim. As I stated in the previous review, he did a great job hanging the rock and did it so cheap that I paid him extra. The tile in that bedroom, about 450SqFt., is 6" X 36" on a very unlevel concrete slab. He worked his butt off getting that tile down. It wasn't perfect but I don't think anyone could have done better with that very difficult tile job. So, the sheetrock and tile were very good but then came the painting. The painting was really bad. I think that he got behind his scheduling because of the high difficulty of the tile job and rushed the paint. He chose to spray the walls and there is overspray everywhere. He put down tarps but they mare really for brush and roller work, not sprayers. Paint also shows the flaws in the sheetrock finishing and there were more quite a few. Richard worked diligently trying to fix them. I actually felt sorry for him, paid him and let him get on to his next job. I have another painter coming in to repair the paint job and I am working nights with paint thinner to clean the tile myself. I would still use Richard on some projects now that I know his skill level. I just expected too much from a man that bills himself as a handyman. All that said, if you have any tile job, Richard is as good as any contractor out there. I don't want to cost Richard any work. I own my business and admit that I have high expectations from other self-employed businessmen."

"They were great. Frank & co. came out while I was at work, and talked to my mother.  Frank gave her a ballpark verbal estimate of $1,000 and said he would email me a written estimate later.  After a couple of days I got the written estimate, which was for $1,200.  I had to go out of town so waited a week or so before responding.  They called a couple of times to make sure I'd gotten the estimate and to ask if I still wanted to have the work done. They weren't pushy, just wanted to let me know they were interested in the work and ready when I was.  Finally, I talked to Frank who basically agreed to split the difference on the price.  It was really great not to have to take the day off work, because my mother felt perfectly comfortable with them.  We called on the day the job was scheduled, because it was pouring rain, but they said they'd be there.  I was told the job may need to extend to a second day, but by the time I got home I had beautiful new stairs.  I had solid-back risers, instead of the open-back stairs I had always hated; the main stairs are pressure-treated pine and the railings are cedar and match the rest of my railings nicely; and somehow they managed to make my stairs less steep without increasing the footprint.  Each stair is also wider, so they're easier to step on.  The stairs are not painted, but I plan to have the guys back to do it in a few weeks.  There was no mess left and I was able to pay over the phone (they asked that if the job extended to a second day, that I pay half the price at the end of the first day, but that wasn't necessary in the end).  My only minor complaint is that I still haven't got a receipt for my payment... but I do have bank records of it so I guess that's fine.  I would recommend them to others and I will probably use them again in the future."

FAQs for walk in tub installation and replacement projects in High-shoals, GA

Because Medicare classifies walk-in tubs as non-durable medical equipment, it generally won’t pick up the tab. Medicaid can help if a doctor certifies that the tub is medically necessary, but rules change by state. Call your plan early, ask which forms you need, and keep any prescriptions or letters on file to improve your odds of reimbursement.

A walk-in bathtub’s fill and drain times hinge on your home’s water pressure and the tub’s hardware. Most models with a fast-fill faucet need about six to eight minutes to fill and two to three minutes to drain; larger basins or standard drains can tack on an extra 10 minutes. Stay seated until the water is completely gone so you don’t swing the door open on a full tub’s worth of water.

A walk-in bathtub holds 50 gallons of water, and its design supports capacities that range from 40 to 80 gallons, depending on the product. In contrast, a standard bathtub holds 25 to 45 gallons. This capacity is determined by the fixed design of the tub and its construction materials. Homeowners should review the detailed product specifications to confirm the exact volume available for use during bath time.

Walk-in tubs are tax-deductible when the purchase qualifies as a necessary medical expense and meets the IRS criteria. Caregivers who install a walk-in tub also qualify for the Dependent Care Tax Credit under specific conditions. Homeowners must verify these requirements with the IRS and consult a tax professional, as state and program guidelines enforce strict documentation standards for such deductions.
