Anything I pointed out that needed a little extra attention got fixed right away the way I wanted it, and I couldn't be happier. The crew also did a fantastic job of cleaning up all the debris from the surrounding yard, it was difficult to tell that anyone had been there. They replaced two worn out gutters also, that look perfect. "I noticed shingles missing off my roof and several storms came through this spring. I contacted three different roofing companies to give me an estimate on what needed repaired. The first two companies both tried to tell me I needed an entire roof replacement. "GCS did an excellent job executing a pretty complicated project. I would definitely recommend them to a friend. The bid that Dennis provided was very detailed and thorough. He came by several times to take measurements and ask questions about our intentions and goals for the project. He also had his electrical and HVAC subcontractors contact us to gather information about the project. It took about two weeks for the bid to be completed, which caused us to get a little impatient, but the final result was far more complete and thorough than any of the other bids we received. The cost was also very competitive. Work started soon after we signed the contract. Dennis did a very good job of coordinating the the tasks, including bringing the various subcontractors to the site in a timely manner, and within about 6 weeks we had the foundations poured and the basic framing done on the 8'x10' kitchen addition and the 16'x20' 1st floor bedroom/basement addition. Dennis' team were receptive to the changes to the plan (there will always be changes to the plan) that we asked for. The changes were documented, invoiced and priced reasonably. There was a lot of inside work to perform, so that took another 3 months or so. Insulation, drywalling, drywall finishing, carpet removal and installation, removal of the old kitchen cabinets and appliances, etc. Again, Dennis did a good job of scheduling the various specialists to come in and do their thing. Dennis was very responsive to any issues or concerns that came up through text messaging or by phone. Problems: Main issue was that the pace of work in the middle of the project was slower than we would have liked. This was mostly an issue with one individual worker. Overall: We are very happy with the results of the project and would recommend GCS highly. Attached picture is of the kitchen interior just prior to completion. It is exactly what we had envisioned."

"The timeline was the biggest problem.  The time it took contractor to finish the project was nearly 2.5 months from start to (almost) finish, with a single bathroom in the house. During this time, there were 2 holidays (Christmas and New Year's) and some days of inclement weather which would have prevented anyone from traveling (~3 in all). However, there was one entire week that I was on travel and returned to find zero progress had been made in that amount of time.
The original estimate was $2,500 for labor only for the bathroom. There were additional items that surfaced throughout the renovation which added scope to the project that increased the labor to nearly $3,700. I provided all material for the project.
Contractor requested milestone payments in advance of work being completed, to include final payment, which was made with promise from Contractor that he would return to fix minor "nit-pick" items, which never did take place. I have had to perform those items myself.
Contractor would set tools in bathtub and on top of porcelain toilet, which resulted in scratches in both. In retrospect I would have requested him to place pads down.
Contractor also did not lay down anything to protect the floors in the house from outside elements that were brought in on his boots (snow/rain), and that was then mixed with debris and dust from  the construction. This made it extremely difficult to clean the floors.
Overall, the bathroom looks nice. When looking in detail, however, once can see where craftsmanship/attention to detail is lacking due to a rush to complete the project.
