"This is my second experience with Travis specifically and I highly recommend requesting him. He asked good questions about how I wanted things done. He is a perfectionist. But what I really value is his ingenuity. <br /> The project I was most nervous about was the installation of a peephole in our solid oak front door. It is very unusual, beautiful, and expensive, and would be easy to ruin in this project. It took him 10 minutes to install it exactly as I had envisioned it, with no damage to the door. <br /> He ran into some trouble on one project, but we worked together to come up with a solution. <br /> The most difficult project (and one my husband said couldn't be done, and one I had some doubts about myself), was hanging the 55" TV. The previous 32" TV was in a built in cabinet behind a door, but that space was only big enough for a 32" TV. Travis had to remove the doors, assemble and mount a custom bracket inside the cabinet on studs, and center the TV to skim the outside of the cabinet. He never hesitated once and worked efficiently to figure out how to position everything. Not only did he do it, he made a lot of custom adjustments so that it fit perfectly over the space. Then he went the extra mile and hooked up the cable, DVD, tuner, CD player, and speakers. To say that I am happy would be the understatement of the year. <br />"

"The estimate was 800 the final invoice was 1400.00. The work was done timely and is nicely done, I'm just disappointed the estimate was so far off. Had I been quoted even close to what the invoice was I would have done it myself. <br /> <br /> On 11/19 I spoke with the contractor who wanted to understand the angie's list grade. I explained I was satisfied with the work the professionalism, the speed, the quality all of it. Just not the estimating price. The contractor  explained the estimating process and why the error could have happened, and the process he has in place to avoid this from happening. The job was estimated over the phone, and the technician doing the work is supposed to notify the homowner if the job is going to cost significantly more than the estimate. So the homeowner has an opportunity to decline the work if it's more than they want to pay. Unfortunately this never happened. A billing explanation is also supposed to be sent out before the work so that the homeowner can be aware of the costs involved. This too did not happen. The reason for the latter may that they were able to do our job almost 2 weeks sooner than the original scheduled date (A+) in my book. <br /> In the end the contractor felt bad and wanted to make it right. He offered to refund some of the bill, which he certainly didn't have to do. He clearly feels like a happy customer is a returning customer....guess what he's right. I have a new home with plenty of things we want to do it, and I know who I'll choose. Not becuase he's refunding money, but because he was willing to call to try and understand what happened and help a customer understand. He clearly cares about his business and his customers. Too many today take the money and run. I have changed their grade to the A they already deserved for everything up to the estimating billing problem."
