Customers say: Quality work

"Here is the revised and enhanced version with the additional details included: I had an awful experience with this company from start to finish. When I called, they hung up on me, and when I finally got through to someone, they rudely said, ?Oh my God, there is nothing to do? when I asked to speak to a supervisor or someone who could help. They made it clear they were not interested in resolving the issue, which is unacceptable. I initially paid $200 for what was supposed to include a diagnostic, 30 minutes of labor, and a cleaning. However, they did not clean anything. The thermoconductor was untouched, proving they did not do the job they were paid for. They also misdiagnosed the issue, trying to convince me I needed a new pilot and attempting to charge me an additional $350. All it actually needed was for the soot to be cleaned off the thermoconductor, which I ended up doing myself and the fireplace has worked perfectly ever since. If I had gone along with their suggestion to replace"

FAQs for window a/c unit service or relocation projects in Hillsborough, NC

If your window air conditioner is relatively new or of high quality, repairing it can restore optimal performance and protect your investment. However, for older units or those with ongoing issues, it might be more cost-effective to replace the unit to ensure long-term efficiency and reliability. Consider the unit's age, the severity of the problem, repair costs versus replacement, and energy efficiency ratings when making your decision. If repairs cost more than half the price of a new unit, replacement is typically the better option.

Window air conditioners last eight to ten years on average. After this time, you may notice decreased efficiency and component wear. Replacing an older unit can improve energy savings and provide updated features like remote controls and better overall performance. With proper maintenance including regular filter cleaning, coil checks, and professional servicing, you can maximize your unit's lifespan.

If your portable AC isn't cooling, it might have a refrigerant leak or a circuit malfunction that's preventing it from working properly. It's best to contact a local air conditioner contractor to inspect and repair the unit. If your AC is older and repairs don't fix the issue, replacing it might be the most effective solution.

Removing a wall-mounted AC costs $55 to $75. Completing the removal yourself at the end of each summer season, being sure to do so according to proper guidelines, keeps you within this cost range. Should you require professional assistance for removal and disposal, if you can't move the unit yourself, expect an added fee of $25 to $50 to the overall cost.
