Customers say: Quick response

"Patio Enclosures was fantastic, the subcontractors that came to do the job were not. However, Patio Enclosures sent two Field Supervisors over to spend and entire day addressing all of our concerns. Overall, their customer service is what made us happy with this project and we absolutely love our 3-season room!"

"The company did a wonderful job in rebuilding my front porch. They work with me of obtaining supplies and using what supplied I had previously obtained for the reconstruction. The end result was wonderful. I definitely will this hire this group again for future construction and renovations."

"His name is Wendel Barns, and he was outstanding!.  He was referred to me by a friend.  I left him the keys to my home, and I never even met the guy!  He never touched a thing, and left the place as clean as could be.  He did what he promised, on schedule.  We never had any arguments, and his price was about 30% lower than the next lowest  <br /> guy.  A's across the board!  I absolutely would use him again.  I even called him later to repair the roof, but the insurance company took care of it."

"We built an all-season porch onto what had been the back patio of our house. In conjunction with this addition, we replaced the entire roof of the house. The workers, who were primarily Hispanic, worked long hours 6 days/week to get the job done, well beyond anything we expected. They did good work. We like the finished product, but thought that the construction process was flawed because of negligence and lack of oversight. We had water damage to interior walls and hard wood floors in rooms that abutted the addition because the framing crew either didn&apos;t have or didn&apos;t use a tarp to cover over the exposed eaves and walls of the house when they left the job on a Saturday. Sure enough, it rained on Sunday and poured on Monday. The contractor took a nonchalant attitude toward the water intrusion, saying it happened on jobs frequently, and they would restore the rooms to the way they had looked prior to the water intrusion. He made no effort to immediately address the water in the walls and flooring by bringing in dehumidifiers, and after nearly a week, the humidity in the house had gone up to 100%, and one of the occupants was having an allergic reaction. We hired another contractor to assist in the water intrusion mitigation. That contractor brought in large dehumidifiers and recommended immediate demolition of the soaked walls. Noah resisted because he had a step-by-step process for building the addition, and demolition of the walls fit into a later step. We eventually were able to persuade him to remove the walls after only a portion of the roof was on. Noah wanted us to relocate during the construction process, presumably because of dust and mold allergies. We are glad that we didn&apos;t leave because we were able to answer questions the crew had, show them the location of the fuse box, open the garage doors for access to the fuse box and attic, move cars to allow access to the attic, provide tools when the workers didn&apos;t have the appropriate tool, locate the paint for the damaged rooms, and ensure that the correct colors were used. We did leave the premises for 2 long weekends. On one weekend nothing was done. When we returned from the last weekend, we found that the circuit breaker to our garage freezer had been tripped, and all of the food in the freezer was thawed and smelly. Noah blamed that on our cleaning lady&apos;s vacuum, which she has used without problem for years. Overall, we are pleased with the finished product but wish that there had been greater oversight and coordination of efforts. For example, a newly completed wall had to be opened because the HVAC wiring had been put in wrong."

"Absolutely great. On time for quote and everyday. Supervisor inspected work at least once a day. Managed other crafts i.e. painters, plumbers. Ordered fixtures, dealt with missed shipments and came back in timely manner when parts arrived. Best contractors I have found in the area.."

"We wholeheartedly recommend Jason and Palmetto Porches. From start to finish Jason, our sales and construction coordinator, never disappointed. He was on top of everything and everyone. Any questions or concerns were responded to and resolved immediately. I never ever had to chase Jason down or wonder what was going on or what was coming next. After several in-person visits from Jason, he and his design team were able to create exactly what we wanted. Palmetto Porches handed us a completed packet to submit to the HOA, which made that process as quick as possible and without questions or concerns. We had a huge space built, over 500 sq ft in new living space, as well as outdoor paver patio. We also had columns removed, header reinforced and siding replaced with sheet rock. Every team of workers were efficient and respectful. Anytime anything could be done, it was. The sunroom itself is a superior quality product with every inch finished off (no visible screws, etc..). It was shipped and delivered as promised. We are delighted with the end product and couldn’t be more thankful for the great experience and customer service from Jason and Palmetto Porches!"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Hilton Head Island, SC

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
