"They responded to my inquiry on a Saturday morning a minute after I sent it in, literally one minute later! From there, they said they could come by to do a free estimate in an hour. They were on time, one minute early. They quoted a fair price and everything was outlined up front. They estimated 3-5 hours. They came by Tuesday as scheduled right on time, and it took 4hrs. I hired them to come back for another job in two weeks. Highly recommend!"

"Devon came out to install our built-in refrigerator and it was a much more extensive project than Devon had anticipated. He did not get upset about that and kept calm and did not change his quote (tho we felt bad and paid him extra on our own). He stayed until the job was done (even coming back the next morning to finish it and another job we had hired him for on the spot). While Devon hadn't done many previous fridge installs, he definitely had a mechanical mind and was very precise about reading all of the directions to be sure the job was done right and that we were happy. We hope to hire Devon for some other work in the future -- we are just awaiting his quotes! We would definitely recommend Devon -- his work was excellent and his estimate was extremely fair."

"Alex and his partner were outstanding. They handled an incredibly difficult install (replacing 70? year old lights!) smoothly. Alex gave clear advice and alternatives on another project. I plan to hire him for that as well."

A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
4. How to Prepare & What to Know Before the Electrician ArrivesHinsdale Electricians are rated 4.9 out of 5 based on 1229 reviews of 1229 pros.
