"They did a beautiful job. Salesmen was great. Workers did a Very professional job. It was done quickly. In fact they told me it would be done in Feb. and I had my doubts that they would work out there in the bitter cold temps. but sure enough they showed up and worked full days. I couldn't find even one thing that needed to be corrected. I called them almost a year later to ask what kind of screws I needed to use to install a blind on one of my windows out there and they actually came and dropped off the proper screws for me. Very impressed with their work. Their price was slightly higher than a couple of the other estimates that I got but it was well worth it. <br />"

"We were blessed when we bought our home 4 years ago that all the previous homeowners did an amazing job with maintenance and upgrades over the years. The only deficiency was that the home still had its original 30 year old windows. We knew from day one that we needed to replace them sooner than later. We saved up and finally called highly-recommended Comfort Windows last August. Our salesperson, Don, was very thorough and knowledgeable. He explained all our options in great detail without any pressure tactics. We chose the window line manufactured by Comfort Windows themselves in Syracuse. 20 windows, triple-paned, one layer of Low-E coating and argon filling. Our house is a traditional colonial so we stuck with the grids on the front but left them out in the rear. We even changed some windows to picture windows. Wow! What an amazing great decision. The light and views are just gorgeous. We also replaced a sliding door between the house and a sunroom addition. Comfort Windows are great quality and affordable. The craftsmanship is top notch. Great value for the product. Like many others acknowledged, our project was delayed by 3 months due to the pandemic. We were originally given a November installation time frame, but didn’t get them installed until February. The real heroes of this project were Paul and Chris. Temperatures in the teens, thick snowpack, heavy lake effect snow, nothing stopped these guys. They were very professional, polite, COVID conscious, and did quality workmanship through some really tough weather conditions. A few other guys popped in here and there to lend a hand, but I didn’t get to meet them. Paul and Chris were “our guys” and we welcomed them into our home like family. When all said and done, we absolutely love our new Comfort Windows. The energy efficiency ratings are spectacular and we can’t wait until we stick it to RG&E. We used a thermometer to check the difference. While it was 12-degrees outside, our original double-paned windows averaged 40 degrees on the face. Imagine, that’s like leaving multiple refrigerators wide open 24/7. The new Comfort Windows were 60 to 65 degrees on the face of the glass. What a difference! We actually had to turn down our thermostat because we were sweating at night. The windows are gorgeous and you can just tell that they were built to last well into the future. A great investment with no buyers remorse. You just can’t beat Comfort Windows. Don’t believe the hype of the overrated national brand. How can a window made to be “one size fits all” serve the climates of California, Florida, Arizona and the winters of New York? These windows are made in New York. These windows are made for New York. Support local businesses and local hard working men and women."

"The door arrived earlier than anticipated. The salesman had the hardware installed to match the door knocker from my husband's family home his parents had built. His sisters made sure he had the doorknocker with the family name on it."

"After seeing their product at the Minneapolis Home & Garden show we were convinced that this was the right product for our porch improvement work. The guys from EZ-Screen brought samples to our home to help us select frame color and installation method. They took careful measurements of all of the window and door openings and put our order in motion. A few weeks later our windows and door were delivered. <br /> <br /> We did this work at the same time we had some exterior siding work done by another contractor. We arranged to have that contractor do the actual installation of the EZ-Screen product. The rep from EZ-Screen came out to our site when the installation started to ensure that our contractor understood how to properly install the windows and door. Everything went smoothly and contractor commented on how easy the windows went in. <br /> <br /> After three full seasons of use we still enjoy the product and we're pleased that we chose this as part of our porch renovation. It has added several additional months to our porch usage in our short Minnesota summer seasons. I highly recommend this product for any new screen porch or porch renovation job!"

"We have mixed feelings about Comfort Windows. We purchased all new windows for our entire house and they were installed in November 2015. So far, we have not had any issues with the windows themselves. The installation took 4-5 days which seemed like alot to us at the time but they were not slacking at all and had alot of trouble getting the old windows out and the new ones in. I do not fault the team at our house at all for the length of time they spent at our house. They really worked hard. Towards the end though they were getting sloppy with the trim work inside the house. The first few windows were perfect and the other ones had sloppy cuts and poor joins. We had to have several re-done. We have all casement windows on the front of our house and one of them we've had a problem with since it was first installed. We had to have them come out 3 times before it was finally fixed. One time, I took off work to meet them and he never came. When I called them the next day, they replied that he was at my house, hours before he was scheduled, fixed the problem from the outside, and then left. He left no indication that he'd been there and was on our property without permission. When I commented that the incident was handled totally inappropriately and that the least they could have done was called to let me know NOT to take off of work, I was dismissed rudely. That definitely left a poor taste for me. The kicker was that with a casement window and the problem we were having, there is no way you can tell from the outside that the problem was fixed. So of course it wasn't and they had to come back out AGAIN. The final straw for us was when we were having the front facade replaced a year later by a different company and they showed us how poorly the outside trim was done by Comfort Windows. Had we not replaced the facade, we definitely would have had water damage eventually. Though most of their people were great and worked hard and the windows seem sturdy, I would not recommend this company to anyone. The few times I had to call the office they were very curt or downright rude and the fact that they had to come out no less than 3 times to keep repairing the same issues makes it a fail to me. I'm really hoping the windows hold up because I do not want to have to call them again!"

"Our goal was to have our house sided and a new roof installed for energy efficiency, and to help keep future maintenance to a minimum. However, we didn't want our home (built in the1850's) to look like a old house trying to look new. We wanted to preserve it's original look as closely as we could while doing the updates. Owner Dan Looney listened to our wishes, and made it happen. <br /> <br /> Dan's first meeting with us was primarily information gathering. A few days later, Dan returned with many samples of siding, roofing and windows to choose from. We had tons of questions, and he patiently answered them all. We never felt like we were being rushed. We picked a siding that was a bit more expensive than the others, but looked very close to the original old wooden shingles on our home. For us, that was very important. Not one, but three seperate contracts were presented for us to choose from, giving us various combinations of options. We felt so confident in Dan's pricing, guarantees, experience and business manor, that we didn't even compare prices with a competitor. Once all decisions were made, we signed the contract (which included a couple of very nice discounts), and the work began. Start to finish, everything was completed in 26 days. Old roofing was torn off, and the new roof installed, complete with new gutters. The siding went very well, taking slightly longer than if we had chosen traditional siding because of the fussy details, but Dan's crew was impeccable. Two replacement windows were installed quickly and the side porch came out beautifully. <br /> We chose Classic Windows and Door primarily from the information in their ad. This company carries an A rating with the BBB, and is also listed with the BCB (Better Contractors Bureau), Good Housekeeping, and is Energy Star and Earthwise accredited. In a red, white and blue banner, "All Products Made in America" stands right out and means a lot to us. Dan advertises with coupons and discounts. <br /> This company was nothing but a pleasure to work with. Dan appeared on the job site about two or three times, but he really didn't need to. He has complete confidence in his sub-contractors. Every one of them were reliable and did top notch, quality work. Dan did phone every now and then to see how we felt things were progressing. The roofing was completed in 2 days. Originally we had asked for only two thirds of the roof to be done, as there was fairly new roofing on the remaining portion. But after seeing how nice it looked, we asked if the entire roof could be done, and there was no hesitation at all. Classic Windows and Door was very flexible and accommodating. Every scrap of material was tossed in the dumpster and all was picked up before the crew left. (It's one year later that I'm writing this review and there has not been a leak in the new roof, nor has once single shingle lifted during a storm or from ice.) Within 30 minutes of the roofers finishing, the siding crew appeared and got right to work. Each day they arrived on time and worked consistently until the job was completed. They were very polite, worked well together and all material was cleaned up at the end of each day. As the siding started to go up, it became evident that these two guys are truly artists in their own right. Every detail was done precisely, and it shows in the finished product. We couldn't be happier. The window man appeared at the appropriate time and installed the two new replacement windows in less than two hours. He said he was able to do so because the siders had set it up for him when they did their job. As soon as the siding was completed, the gutter man came to install the gutters and completed his work that same day. It was amazing how smoothly the work progressed. <br /> On the day of completion, Dan stopped by to check the finished product and to give us a folder with all of our guarantees and warrantys. We admired the house together, and at that point, we paid the balance of our bill in full. A job very well done. We are happy to highly recommend this company to anyone looking for services such as these. We feel it simply just doesn't get any better than this! <br />"

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Holley, NY

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
