"I contacted State of the Art Handyman Service because he is close to where I live and also because of very high Angie's List ratings.  He did not disappoint!  When I called he explained he had 3 weeks of work ahead of me and asked if I could wait.  My belief is that contractors that are good are usually busy so that was not a problem.  I actually had to wait longer than 3 weeks but Art was direct in communicating the delay and when he would arrive to do the work. <br /> Art arrived on time and spent almost the whole day.  I handed him a list when he arrived and he went right to work, meticulously finishing each job before starting the next.  He also made sure to explain what he had done and wanted to make sure I approved of the result.  He was a good listener.  Instead of just jumping in to make the repair, he wanted to know exactly what was wrong from my point of view.  This type of problem solving approach is what makes him so successful as a handyman. <br /> The surprise of the day came when Art discovered there was faulty ground wiring in the bathroom where he replaced the 2 GFI outlets.  He actually troubleshooted an issue that a previous licensed electrician installed and overlooked.  We took photos of the problem and I sent those photos to the contractor and licensed electrician who had originally did the wiring.  The initial reaction was that Art was a handyman, not an electrician, so he must not know what he was talking about.  But a couple of days later, upon my insistence and Art's photos (with explanation), the electrician came back to check it out.  It turns out State of the Art Handyman knew EXACTLY what he was talking about! <br /> I would use Art again for miscellaneous work around the house or at my place of business.  He has a wide range of expertise, is an excellent communicator, and is fairly priced.  The downside is the wait to get on his schedule but that's because he's so good.     <br />"

"Tom and his crew were very polite and professional. They worked constantly from the time they arrived until they left at the end of the day. They always cleaned up any mess they made at the end of the day and left the area neat. Chris, worked on the crown mouldings and baseboards and did an excellent job. The crown and the baseboards are beautiful and make the house look so polished. I absolutely love the mouldings and baseboards. The painting was done very well and I am very pleased with every room that was painted. My basement looks fantastic! The flooring and baseboards look spectacular! Tom goes out of his way to insure everything the customer wants is done. He even went with me to Home Depot to pick out the doors and locks. He also did extra tasks that weren't in the contract, such as putting vents in my furnace room because they should be there for safety reasons. I truly appreciated Tom's thoughtfulness in completing jobs in my house because they were needed or would make my home look better. I was very fortunate to find Tom and his crew, because not only were they professional and personable, but they completed all of the work I contracted for and did even more that I didn't ask for. Tom really did treat my home as if it was his and provided high quality work and a great smile too. I highly recommend Tom and his construction company to anyone looking for an honest and fair contractor, who takes pride in the quality of work performed. I only have one project left to do, but I certainly will contact Tom to do that job when I'm ready."

"We <strong>HAD</strong> a long list of tasks and he was able to complete the tasks from <strong>simple </strong>to <strong>difficult</strong>, with no problem.  All repairs were completed quickly with quality work.  He would always attempt to repair before replace to save us money.  We had a kitchen drawer that no longer fit and he was able modify the drawer so it now fits perfectly.  This saved us from getting a new drawer. <br />"
