"Three years ago Ross Services installed travertine tiles on my lanai/pool deck. They did an excellent job. Three years later, three tiles were damaged, one as a result of the repair of a pool leak. I called Brandon at Ross Services and explained the problem. Within a reasonable period of time Brandon got back to me and gave me a time that the repair would be done. The repair was completed by a gentleman name Brian, who did an excellent job. Much to my surprise there was no charge for this repair and service call. I would highly recommend Ross Services for anyone looking for tile/paver work and the many other services they provide."

"We were getting ready to have a wedding at the house for my daughter. We called Pink and Green to help us get the property in shape. Luke came out and offered some great ideas. He emailed us the design the following day. His guys installed it the next week and it came out amazing. The colors of the ground orchids even matched my daughter's dress. My neighbor is now using Pink and Green to redesign their yard."

"The initial pressure washing did not remove all the old sand, dirt and moss in some areas. The workers said it would be OK once re-sanded and sealed. The finished job had evidence of the debris still in the spaces and gaps between some of the bricks. I brought up the fact that ants will come back and dig out the sand but I was assured it would not be a factor.I brought this up with the person running their office that there may be a warranty issue down the road. There were several issues that I observed that was not professional: <br /> <ol> <li></li> <li>Power cords were in poor condition; one had the grounding pin cut off.</li> </ol> Tool was left in the grass after the job. <br /> Sealing equipment didn't work and took over an hour to clean and that was done on my grass. <br /> Sealant was over-sprayed on garage doors, front doors and side of house. <br /> Crew person recalculated the square footage and told the office my calculation was wrong with out talking to me. The next day I had to walk the person though the measurement process and we concluded my measurement was correct, even forgiving by about 50 sq.ft. <br /> Pineapple plant knocked over and I had to relocate. <br /> By June 2012 I was writing a letter/email about the deterioration of the pavers job. The office person called me, said they were backed up with work and it was also the rainy season and would schedule to come back soon. I never heard back. By January I wrote another email/letter and when I didn't hear back after a month (Feb 2013 now) I called Mr. Ricardo himself. He was not aware of any of my problems nor had he seen my letter and pictures that I had sent but would get his office person to reschedule an appointment. After not hearing back again (couple of weeks), I called the office again. The person told me she had called me last summer but there was no message or history of the call on my phone. In March 2013 I got a call that they would be there the next day. <br /> The second visit the crew was very professional and accommodating. They started out repairing part of my driveway that had slumped down; this was over and above what was contracted. The drive way was pressure scrubbed then power washed. The crew was very friendly and tried to do the best job possible. The leader was communicating with me throughout the job. The second job came out very nice the only problem is that the poly sand they used has started to washout in several areas (this has been 3 weeks). I don't desire to have NRicardo's pavers back out and I don't have a beef with the washed out bricks. I bought some poly sand from Home Depot and I will patch the areas myself. I don't expect this type of driveway to be maintenance free so with the extra poly sand <em> </em>I can maintain the driveway in the future. <br /> Over the years I have always been a and quot;do it yourself personand quot;; this event has reminded me why. I had to basically manage (oversee) all the work. I do this for a living (maintenance management) and not something I need to do when I contract work. Unfortuanly this is very common today and probably a big enabler for a site like Angi's List to survive. <br /> <br />"

"Excellent, excellent, excellent. We were so glad to have found Jim and his company. Before finding Jim, we had started to work with another landscaper who always seemed to have other projects that were more important than our and wouldn't follow up when promised. Out of frustration, I searched for another company and voila- in steps JIm's Trim and Landscaping. I completed an online inquiry and within 10 minutes I got a call from Jim. I explained the scope of what we wanted to do and he came over the next day (it would have been the same day, but I had previous plans that day). We told him what we would like (clearing old hedges and overgrowth, installing a hedge along the property line and landscaping the front yard). We gave him an idea of the types of plants we would like and he explained pro and cons of them (he really knows his plants). He provided us an estimate within 24 hours and the project began. Every promised time and deadline has been met and expectations have been surpassed at a fraction of what the other landscaping company was trying to charge. Unlike the the other company, Jim does not subcontract a lot of work out which really helps to keep costs down and the fact that he also likes to work with what you have, helps to reduce costs as well. In our case we had many old edging bricks which now make up the border of our lovely new color filled garden beds. We will definitely hire again for future landscaping projects."

"The sales associate was very informative about the features and benefits of the products I was looking at. He took his time and really made me feel comfortable about my selection. the installers that came out to my home arrived on time they where very professional and really went the extra mile to ensure that my installation was perfect before they left. They where very clean and organized during the installation process which made having my home a construction site easer to manage."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Homestead, FL

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
