Get matched with top deck or porch build or replacers in Hopelawn, NJ

"For the most part, the technician did a good job and was very punctual. However, he did not paint between the deck boards and I will have to do that myself. In addition, I did not receive a receipt for the repair materials or for his labor."

"The job went very well and looked better than I imagined. I had a traditional pressure treated deck that was built 25 years ago. Maintenance was a nightmare to the point I stained the deck a solid color. This needed to be freshened up every couple of years. I tired of doing this chore so I contacted several contractors. Those contacted were not very enthusiastic and submitted extremely high bids without explaining exactly what materials they were using or a plan of attack. Brian of Carls Decking came with samples, brochures and a no nonsense explanation of what needed to be done to put me” in my happy place.” Brian inspected the frame and found it to still be level and in good shape. He suggested a total rip off of the planks and replacement of steps deck boards and railings. He even obtained the railing permit and made sure final inspection was handled. Pricing to do this type of renovation is not cheap but the final result was worth every penny! The crew that Brian sent over did an amazing job! The premises was cleaned up everyday when they left and all work was done in a very professional manner. I recommend Carl’s Decking very highly."

"Replacement of the deck, garage door and bathroom were done quickly and satisfactorily. Would hire again."

"We had our walkways replaced & yard thoroughly landscaped with bushes & flowering perennials. He also repaired a drainage problem that was keeping a section of the lawn muddy. He listened to what we wanted while providing helpful solutions to problems. His team was professional & did an excellent job; cleaning up our yand at the end of every workday."

"We hired John at American Home Remodeling, Inc., to renovate our first floor bathroom. My wife and I were finally ready to pull the plug on a renovation but were nervous with the process. John made it easy, and made sure to go over every fine detail as well as assure us of the proper building permits that were going to be issued by their expeditor with the township. The job went smooth from the beginning to the end. Since we had a great experience with John and his team, we started to get quotes on our deck which was in dire need of replacement. We ended up signing with American Home Remodeling for our deck replacement, and could not have been happier to do so. We finally get to enjoy our deck for the remainder of the spring and also for the summer. Thank you John for a job well done."

"I had been working on finding the right contractor and company to build our back porch for months after working with two contractors that were total disappointment. I found Tito and Sons on home advisor. Tito and his crew were able to establish the permit in three weeks - we waited on this same permit application for almost 9 months with another company without the result we wanted Tito kept me updated, informed, and every step of the project he let me know what was going on in my backyard His crew could not have been nicer or more hard working. I swear they were out there In 100 degree heat. The back porch that they completed surpassed all of our expectations and more. I had so many questions all the time and Tito was patient, explanatory, and courteous We now have the back porch we have been hoping for and can enjoy the rest of summer and all of the seasons to come in this house thanks to them! Call Tito and sons of you want to get the job completed, On time, with the right price, friendly people, and quality work. We will use them again. Above all the genuine disposition and willingness to satisfy the client is unparalleled here. Celeste Shaughnessy Westfield"

"Mr. Powers, at first, was courteous and reliable; the project seemed to have problems, and he was getting frustrated at having to surface the existing deck due to its configuration; he claimed that the measurements and figures were off, while another professional disagreed with his calculations; the project was delayed due to materials being delayed by supplier; Mr. Powers suggested another other remedies for steps and that I purchase an additional type of board for $120, which I did; i paid Mr. Powers in full of the understanding that he would come back and finish off certain areas; during this time, a death occurred and he was unable to come when scheduled; when I texted Mr. Powers, he began belligerent, and cursed at me. I do not find it professional to curse at a client and refuse to take phone calls. I ultimately told Mr. Powers not to come back to my house and to refund the board I purchased that was in his possession. He did so. Since the time of completion, May 2026, numerous boards have come loose. I had someone else correct this issue, and now more boards are coming loose, which I texted him about and showed pictures of on September 9, 2026, and have not heard back from Mr. Powers regarding acknowledgment or addressing the loose boards, as my contract provides for two (2) years."

"Mike went beyond his service. He replaced my concrete patio and place it with paver tile stone. He paint my bathroom and put up new light fixtures and fixed my wood kitchen floor. He built a beautiful deck. Very nice experience working with Mike. Not disappointed at all. Very nice man"
