"We are currently in an exception heat spell and I am running my water well supplied lawn irrigation system daily. This morning, I notice my sprinklers had not run. I checked the breaker and that was fine. I called the Ballard office and to my surprise, they said they would have someone there that afternoon. My pump is ~10 yrs old, so I was not expecting a pleasant outcome. Blane Greenhaw and an assistant showed up and within thirty minutes had my pump running at the minimum service charge. Very pleasant and professional crew. -- Great job."

Customers say: Quick response

"I would like to thank R and D Water Services for their expertise in the construction of a new water well for my daughter in Spring Lake Estates in Conroe, TX. My daughter has resided at her present location @ 18 years and NEVER in those years did the water run as well as now. The expert service was very much appreciated."

"Not recommended!! Its a waste of money in my case. My kitchen sink underneath had a clog and a leaking pipe, So the pipe started leaking once the clog happened. The technician came, inspected quickly and quoted $1200 in this case. We did not approve the work and he charged $103. We had two more plumbing companies visiting after, one of them charged $525 (which is also high, but they completed the work) for just snaking And removing the clog, Another company was only quoting less than $200 for snaking and removing the clog. The work was offered to be completed in both the cases. As I am also reading from many reviews, I think Roto-rooter will just come and quote high and charge the visiting fees."

"If you are on a schedule or want to get a direct answer when calling about status updates for your project, then find somebody else. Ballard does not provide information that is clear and precise and cannot set a schedule and keep it. The project has not been performed and is currently 30 days behind schedule. If Ballard should choose to complete the project without any more delays or issues, then we might consider retracting this review."

"I highly recommend Brazos Home Services. They do excellent work for reasonable prices. They recently completed the plumbing for our in-ground pool. Mark Saavedra took the initiative to discuss the requirements with the pool manufacturer to make sure the layout of the pool equipment was correctly done and the work would meet warranty requirements."

FAQs for well pump repair or service projects in Houston, TX

A standard well inspection begins with a visual inspection of the pump, casing, storage tank, and wiring, followed by flow rate tests and laboratory-based water sampling. The goal is to confirm that every part meets safety standards and to identify any necessary repairs before they become expensive. An inspector will also test your water quality for substances such as volatile organic compounds and any local containment concerns.

Book a licensed, insured well specialist for your inspection. Many well‑pump contractors also hold inspection credentials. They’ll bring the right tools to assess the pump, wiring, and water quality, and provide you with a clear report on any necessary fixes. Before you hire, confirm their license, insurance, and recent customer reviews.

Plan on a full well inspection every year. You’ll also want one any time the cap comes off, after septic repairs, or if flooding occurs. Annual tests look for total and fecal coliform; every two years, the lab should screen for metals and nitrates, and every five years for VOCs and pesticides. If you’re buying a home with a private well, it’s essential to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

With routine care, most wells supply clean water for up to 40 years. Lifespan depends on the type and how well you protect it. To help it reach the maximum lifespan, keep hazardous products far from the casing, ensure the cap stays sealed, schedule yearly inspections, and address problems as soon as they appear. Good habits keep the system healthy and the water safe.

The average cost of well repairs ranges from $100 to $2,800. Your final bill depends on which part—pump, pressure tank, casing, or piping—needs attention and the level of complexity involved in the repair. A thorough inspection identifies the problem, allowing you to budget accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or services.
