"It went very well. Patrick explained everything he was doing and what my options were. I never felt he was trying to generate unnecessary work. He also understood the urgency and came out on a Sunday morning of a holiday weekend to handle the follow up. I would strongly recommend him and he'll be the first one I call if I need plumbing services in the future."

"on time, and knowledgeable the technician did the job well. Also, I had a problem changing the furnace filter. The filter was getting stuck when taking it out or installing. He repaired that too."

"EXCELLENT! The pipe clogged on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON, of course. Water was leaking into our basement! I started looking for someone with 24 hour service, and no one could come out. Then I got a call from IL Sewer and Drain. Joe said he could be out in about an hour, it was already after 4:30 pm. He came out, and was able to unclog our pipe! But upon inspection, the pipe needed to be replaced. He was able to schedule it for the next morning! The work took a few hours, but was all finished and cleaned up! I would not hesitate to hire them again or give them an outstanding reference."

"So, it's noon, I have 25 people coming to my house for dinner and my kitchen sink gets clogged.  Oh, by the way, it's freaking Thanksgiving!!!!
I scan Angie's List and a few other rating services and come across several well-rated plumbers.  A few frantic phone calls later (voice mail on the first three calls) and I stumble upon Jon.  He picks up the phone (what a surprise!) and tries to walk me through a fix over the phone.  After five minutes of back-and-forth, Jon finally says, "I'm can be over in twenty minutes."
Now, I'm not really in a position to negotiate and I figure it's going to be crazy expensive.  Jon shows up, on-time, dressed like he is heading to a family dinner, which I'm assuming he was.
An hour later, the sink is draining and Jon is cleaning up after making me promise to never peel potatoes into the disposal again.  He then gives me the bill.  Not only did he not charge me an outrageous price, but I've paid substantially more for a plumber on a Tuesday afternoon at 1:00pm for less work.
I can't speak to all the reviews on his work, but I would venture to guess that there isn't one other plumber on the planet earth that would have taken care of a first-time customer like Jon did today.  He is the best plumber in the Chicagoland area, in my humble opinion.

"Climate Masters has always provided top quality service at a reasonable price. They arrive on time and they don't find "hidden charges" or try to claim something needs to be replaced when it does. They are a great company to use"

"The secondary furnace stopped blowing heated air and the fan would run continuously without automatically shutting off, so I looked through the Angie's List reviews and decided to call TDH Mechanical. They sent Rob right away, who evaluated the issue with the furnace. I asked for pricing to install Aprilaire Humidifiers on both furnaces and an electronic air cleaner on the main furnace. Proposal was issued same day and work was scheduled soon after. TDH worked with my schedule and I had flexibility to work with their schedule as well, so once the proposal was accepted the project was planned to start about 1 week later.
Bernie came right at 7 a.m. on the scheduled day and worked a full day to complete a major amount of work on the main furnace. He moved duct work and PVC drain, fresh air feed and exhaust pipes to install the humidifier and air cleaner. His work was very well done with precision, and all relocated airways and ductwork done thoughtfully and smartly. Bernie had to remove an incorrectly installed humidifier and patch the duct in its place, also done very neatly and securely.
48 hours later, Bernie returned to repair the secondary furnace by replacing the inducer blower motor and a pressure switch. He also removed that older humidifier and properly installed a new Aprilaire 500. Bernie also fixed an airflow issue with the ductwork and re-glued a leaking PVC exhaust pipe.
The work was all done in accordance with the proposal, and the work was finished in a highly professional manner. I will hire TDH to return in the spring for my air conditioning tune-up and rely on them for all my heating and AC needs in the future. The work required skill, precision and problem solving to install all the components to the main furnace. Bernie did a perfect job and I appreciate that level of quality. I'm very pleased with my experience with TDH Mechanical.

"I looked on A’s list and saw C&J Plumbing and called. Dmitriy answered, asked my location and if I were home. He was at my door in ten minutes and solved the problem in three more. He also listened and followed me around my townhouse to see if the mystery of the flood could be solved. There is a pump that takes overflow and condensation to the city pipes and his thought was that it may have failed and then started again. He advised I check the drain that leads to it each night and call them if it starts to back up. I asked how much and he said, “Don’t worry about it.” COURTEOUS. AVAILABLE KNOWLEDGEABLE WITH NO HUSTLE OR HARD SELL!!! I found my plumbers!"

FAQs for well pump repair or service projects in Chicago, IL

A standard well inspection begins with a visual inspection of the pump, casing, storage tank, and wiring, followed by flow rate tests and laboratory-based water sampling. The goal is to confirm that every part meets safety standards and to identify any necessary repairs before they become expensive. An inspector will also test your water quality for substances such as volatile organic compounds and any local containment concerns.

Book a licensed, insured well specialist for your inspection. Many well‑pump contractors also hold inspection credentials. They’ll bring the right tools to assess the pump, wiring, and water quality, and provide you with a clear report on any necessary fixes. Before you hire, confirm their license, insurance, and recent customer reviews.

Plan on a full well inspection every year. You’ll also want one any time the cap comes off, after septic repairs, or if flooding occurs. Annual tests look for total and fecal coliform; every two years, the lab should screen for metals and nitrates, and every five years for VOCs and pesticides. If you’re buying a home with a private well, it’s essential to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

With routine care, most wells supply clean water for up to 40 years. Lifespan depends on the type and how well you protect it. To help it reach the maximum lifespan, keep hazardous products far from the casing, ensure the cap stays sealed, schedule yearly inspections, and address problems as soon as they appear. Good habits keep the system healthy and the water safe.

The average cost of well repairs ranges from $100 to $2,800. Your final bill depends on which part—pump, pressure tank, casing, or piping—needs attention and the level of complexity involved in the repair. A thorough inspection identifies the problem, allowing you to budget accurately and avoid paying for unnecessary parts or services.
