"Very well. They scheduled with us, and installed on the same day we got our new furnace. They worked with the HVAC guys so that everyone could do what they needed and still get out of the driveway. Usually buying windows is as ugly as buying a used car. This was painless. They gave us a price and that was a promise. Took a while to get the windows, but supply chain issues, NOT Zen was the key. I'd deal with them again, but since their windows are lifetime guaranteed, I won't need to unless i move."

"Amazing system! Did a lot of research on alarm systems....so glad I went with 1st security! They came to my house and explained everything to me, were not pushy at all. Came and installed the system a few days later....took the time to explain everything to me and did an amazing job with the installation. And the price is excellent, both the installation fee and the month to month. So happy with my decision."

"The installation was amazing. They had all 15 replaced in a little over 4 hours. One gentleman replaced and the second followed behind, cleaning up and doing inside finishing. Three came back the next day to do outside insulation and trim. The windows are fabulous. My only problem has been getting the follow-up paperwork. I'm not terribly worried (at this point) because I am relying on their reputation to follow through."

"I hired Smith and Rogers to install tile in my laundry room.   I was able to get the estimated done on a Saturday which was great. My only complaint is that I had to call three times to get the job scheduled.  Once I got a call back they were able to install the tile the next day which I appreciated because they knew I was in a rush to get the job done.   Dan and Jason did a great job. They arrived on time and worked efficiently.  I chose a multi color tile and Dan did a good job of arranging the tiles so that the colors looked random.  They came back the next morning to grout the tile which was also done quickly.  I also liked that I only had to provide the tile and grout and they brought the rest of the supplies.  Their price sounded a little high at first but once I factored in the supplies that they provide I could see that they were reasonably priced. I would recommend Smith and Rogers if you are looking for a good tile installer.

"Mike contacted us within a day and was up on our roof as soon as possible with weather. Mike noticed we had a few issues, but we also had hail damage to the roof, our aluminum siding, and gutters. He urged us to call insurance and see if that damage could be covered. So glad we did. The insurance adjuster covered new siding and a new roof. Projects that we knew would have to be done eventually on our soon to be 30 year old house. We hired Bradford and they have done a beautiful job on the roof. Siding is going on soon as well as gutters and new soffits. A complete new exterior. We were blessed to have hired Bradford and have Mike recognize what the opportunity we had with insurance. The cost of the deal was $95, the cost of our new exterior was just over $19,000. We also changed a door to a slider, closed up two doors and a window, added 3 additional windows and replaced another window - the additions and changes were an additional $6000. Insurance covered the $19,000. Bradford is also willing to send someone to meet with your insurance adjuster. Our adjuster said they were accurate in their analysis of the roof and siding situation."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Howard, OH

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
