"I have an approximately 1100 sq ft driveway that had a couple of stress cracks that needed to be filled and sealed. Called Sealpro after seeing their rating on Angie's list and had them come over for an estimate. Today they filled and sealed my drive and it looks like new. Great job! <br />"

"We purchased a house that was 20 years old. We needed our concrete walkway repaired, as it sank over a period of several years, leaving the distance between steps as a safety hazard. Brian and his crew assessed the situation and did an amazing job. Besides replacing the entire concrete walkway, they also installed a railing. They did another railing in the back of the house and installed a new mailbox as well. 2 days in and we've had many compliments on both the mailbox and walkway. Another neighbor has already asked if HMD is willing to do their mailbox. No job to small (or big, as I believe they're used to doing much larger jobs in the metro area). They also kept our property and surrounding area clean. They loaded equipment and materials in and out, and it was a "busy site" for a couple of days, but when they cleaned up, you would never know they were there, except for the quality craftsmanship they left behind. The front of our house looks better than ever."

"The Hi Tech Construction & Restoration Corp. is truly a wonderful company ! I have had them before, and they're truly marvelous! Mr Karman, his brother, Mr. Usman and their team did such a fantastic job in repairing my roof, my deck, brick pointing, and waterproofing these areas. So far, at long last, I am leak free! They're absolutely brilliant ! I highly suggest anyone, who need such repairs, to contact them immediately. The prices for their services are very reasonable . Their work is simply amazing ! Thank you so much, Hi Tech Construction & Corp. !"

"The crew handcrafted the compass feature out so blue stone and the results were beyond expectation. The completed expansion lended perfectly with the existing patio. Scott and his crew are true craftsmen. Everything in the estimate was delivered as promised, including the price. There were never any delays. I highly recommend Rock Masonry for anyone wanting or needing any form of stone work. In my opinion they are the very best."

"These guys did excellent work....They were faced with some issues when upgrading the drainage pipes. They called me out to explain each situation and got my approval to do it the way they thought would be best. Great work. Will have them back for landscaping or yearly cleanup, for sure!"

"The interaction with "Jim" was excellent for the initial estimate. There was good follow up. Good communication throughout. They coordinated the installation to fit my schedule. The work was done with great precision and neatly. There was little evidence that they had disturbed any plants or shrubs in doing the exterior finish work. All old windows were removed. The staff reviewed the method to service the windows."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Howell, NJ

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
