"Mr. Sullivan brought an assistant and they cleaned our Appleton 2-story Victorian home's gutters and repaired a spot damaged by an ice dam in last year's severe winter. "The experience was overall excellent, except after it was done I started to question the price and I noticed a few other things that make me grade slightly lower on both price and quality. I should have gotten more quotes, but I had already spent $129 for the one room. I did have a lot of issues and they had to replace a pretty large area of drywall in my hallway. I can’t grade them poorly on price, when I didn’t get more quotes and I didn’t question it until after the work was done and I had paid him. Chris (the owner) did say that he was willing to work with me on price, so I would take him up on that negotiation next time. I was naïve about the price before the project started. As far as quality, the color of the wood trim they replaced around my furnace chimney does not match the rest of the woodwork on the chimney. I have dark wood, and they stained it a bit lighter than that. I said it was acceptable, so it's my fault for not liking it as much after they left. When the sun hits it just right, I can really see the difference in color. But, like I said, it's my fault for saying it was ok. The craftsmanship on replacing that piece of trim was excellent. It looks beautiful, except the color being a bit off. The painter who did the painting afterwards found a couple areas where texture spray is missing and said there was texture spray on my ceiling fan blades facing the ceiling. He only mentioned that, because he didn’t want me to think he did it. I haven’t looked at the blades myself, but I believe him. The painter also pointed out a slight crack forming already near my chimney. I’ve already talked with the owner Chris about that and Chris said he’d come out and look at it. We haven’t made the appointment yet, but Chris seemed concerned about it and will stand behind his work. I’m not sure what’s going on there, because Mudslingers really did a thorough job replacing the drywall around my chimney. I was surprised to see the crack, as well. Overall the cleanup by Mudslingers was very thorough. I was able to comfortably move around my house during the project, which I wasn’t expecting to be able to do. My house looks 100% times better now than it did before Mudslingers repaired the walls. The owner (Chris), his son, and the 3rd worker were all very professional, nice, and they seemed to know what they were doing. His son even fixed a crack in my hallway that I hadn't even noticed. So I appreciated their being proactive while they worked. I trusted them with a key to my home and they used it responsibly. I would hire them again, but I would get a few quotes, just to compare prices. I didn't get more quotes because I had already invested $129 through Angie's List to hire them."

"Things started very slowly for us, because of constant rain in the beginning and then one or two of the guys were out sick or injured (not work related). But, once things got under way, everything went really well. First of all, our house is three stories tall and the garage is not attached, also the homes in this neighborhood are quite close to each other, so there wasn't a lot of space on the sides of the house for working. The stucco work made it so that you couldn't even see where the patching and repairs were. And, the painting is just beautiful. We needed some gutters replaced and they even cleaned out gutters which were not part of the job or contract. While the work was being done, there was stuff all over the yard, but at the end of each day it was all cleaned up and piled nicely. Bruce and his guys were very courteous and friendly. Whenever we brought up anything that we felt needed doing, they always took care of it. They never gave us some reason why it couldn't be done. As the work went along we discovered that a ceiling had fallen down in a sleeping porch that we just used for storage. It turned out that water was coming in from poor roofing that had been done years before. After first trying to calk it and finding out that didn't work, we had Bruce repair that section of the roof. So that was a completely separate job and the room is now dry and being brought back into working order. We were so happy with the exterior painting that we have now gone ahead to have some interior rooms redone (the walls torn out and replaced and painted.) The one bedroom that has been done is so beautiful that everyone now wants that to be their room. We went beyond what we had planned to do, so we are having to come to an end here, but we will definitely be getting Bruce back to do further work in the future."

"I am not sure that I go what I wanted. My basement floor is unfinished, and it has a crack in it, so I assumed they  would repair it like the way they repair a crack in a wall, and they didn't. They poured in a crack filler, which runs about 13 Dollars at Home Depot. I don't think it was worth 149 Dollars for a crack filler, and he was here less than 20 minutes. The crack has been filled, but it wasn't what I wanted, and before he did that, he said he would look at the basement and there were 3 cracks but he offered to repair the one on the floor. He could have chosen to repair the crack in the wall for 149 Dollars."

"I have worked with contractors in the past but, never had such kind, courteous, punctual, and patient young men as Jovon and Jeremy. They worked with me on the situation I was in. My neighbor was going to install my storm door for free but he ended up in a cast due to a work injury. So now I'm stuck. I contact Angi to get some Quotes. Jovon set up the appointment. Arrived on time. Just toward the end of the install we discover I had ordered the door to wide I had a 36" and I needed a 32". So then I went online to find the right door. Jovon and Jeremy gave me another appointment for the next day, They arrived at 10 AM and went out of their way to take me back to Menards to exchange the door. I Will RECOMMEND these wonderful guys to every one I hear of that needs work done. Jovon and Jeremy I Thank you for doing a great job at an affordable price. ."

"We are undertaking an extensive exterior renovation of our c.1927 Tudor Revival and badly needed masonry restoration represented Phase I.
This was our first experience with a provider found on Angie's List and we were very pleased. I received a very prompt response to my initial request for an estimate and in comparison to other quotes we obtained, A O Handy was most in line with the extent of restoration we felt necessary as well as within our budget.
The work began within a few days of our having signed the contract and continued daily until completion. I was especially impressed with the crew's punctuality and how respectful they were of the jobsite. They tidied up  the work area everyday before they left.
I was also impressed by how well they were able to match the color of the new mortar to that contained within the existing grout lines. They also cleaned up the unsightly repairs where the previous homeowner had attempted to repoint sections of the brickwork himself years ago.
In summary, if you're looking for quality, old world craftmanship, I would strongly recommend AO Handy. It truly was a pleasure dealing with Andy, his son Arthur and the rest of the crew.
I am hoping the next phases of our exterior renovation go as well as the masonry restoration did.
