"I hired Bertie to repair some ceilings in my kitchen, living room, and bathroom. He did a really nice job and left the house tidy when it was all said and done. He was responsive to my calls, and very friendly and professional. The work looks great and I've already recommended him to a friend. He is definitely a plaster guy I'd call in the future."

"Fds Installers Inc ( Wayne) did a fantastic job. He demolished the bad job the previous contractor did, and repaired, stained and stalled beautiful stair threads and steps. He is a master in his craft. Can’t wait to work with his company again."

"Amazing! This is the second time I've used Daddy & Junior Paint and I am once again happy. The first project he did for me was a small job. Some ceiling repair and painting and I was very happy with the work he did so reached out to him for a much bigger project. Roldolfo removed a ceiling that had been ruined by a leaky roof and took the paneling off of the walls in a large space (approximately 700 SF). He then resheetrocked everything, mudded, painted and did the trim and crown molding. It came out beautiful. The space looks so much better than it did before. Much cleaner and the space actually looks bigger! Very happy and will gladly hire again for future projects."

"It's tough finding a contractor who is professional, does the work exactly as contracted, is prompt and understands what good customer service is. C&J Home Services does all that and more. I've never had a problem with miscommunication or with the billing. They are very organized and I really can't say enough good things about them. Because the services provided are at a rental property and I'm not on site, Jose sends photos of the work when complete. I don't need to go to the property to confirm the work is completed. Their snow removal costs range from $75 0-3 inches to $225 9-12 inches up to 4 visits per 12 hr storm. Spring and fall clean up costs vary depending on what's needed $400-$500. All work nicely done."

"Breeze are my go to guys for anything we want done around the house. We had two major projects: Kitchen cabinets and finishing off a section of the basement, as well as a bunch of minor stuff we wanted done around the house like a shelf over our tea making station. They were fast, efficient and do beautiful work. When we got the quote for the basement office, I assumed for the price they'd just be finishing off the inside of the room, but they even plastered and did baseboard on the exterior. We've got a rambunctious two year old and they helped us add some special child proof features that are both pretty and make our lives so much easier."

"Daniel Motti is everything one can wish for in a contractor. The clarity of his proposal, the seamless fulfillment of the contract, the professionalism of all of his workers, their respect for and attentiveness to both my wife and I, and the consistent attention to detail are all measures of Daniel’s high standards and effectiveness as a manager. Motti Painting Solutions, under Daniel Motti’s leadership is an outstanding, first-rate company. When I read other’s positive recommendations, I am not put off by minor criticism--it can make the evaluation seem more realistic or grounded. In this case, there is absolutely not one criticism that I can offer. My wife and I were totally satisfied with and impressed by the work and the wonderful end product that Daniel and his team provided to us. Daniel was hired to do a complete prep and exterior painting of our large 3-story home including over 30 double-hung windows, an unattached garage, and a wooden stockade fence that abuts our property. The house had not been painted for over 25 years. He also oversaw exterior carpentry replacement and repairs before undertaking the paint job. The job took a little over 3.5 weeks to complete. Each aspect of the project was undertaken with great skill and care. The team (3-5 workers) was overseen by a supervisor--Dimos--who clearly had the respect of his team, which was hardworking and cohesive. There was no weak link in this group. They were personable and thoughtful about our needs. Dimos is a great communicator and responded effectively to my inquiries and concerns. When I interviewed Daniel for the job he pointed out that his carpenters were his employees, rather than being subcontracted, and this would work to our benefit. It did. Our carpenter, Mauricio (and his assistant) fully focused on the carpentry itemized in our contract. He worked in a sequence that was seamlessly coordinated with the prep and painting. He repaired and replaced our lengthy wooden fence and solved a long-standing problem of stabilizing one end of the fence. He replaced damaged shingles, repaired a deck and 3 sets of stairs. Mauricio is an expert carpenter who works quickly and well. I met with and was impressed by Daniel for an interview and one subsequent meeting. During the work, I was in touch with Daniel regularly--largely by email--occasionally by phone. Unfailingly, he responded the same day to my emails--or early the next morning. His replies systematically responded to each of my questions or concerns. Daniel’s writing is excellent and clear. Although he was not often on-site, his regular contact with Dimos meant he was always on top of the project as it proceeded. Daniel epitomizes professionalism. His proposal/contract and invoices are a comprehensive and detailed. The contract price for the job increased only because my wife and I wanted additional carpentry. We never felt there was pressure on the team to finish up and get on to the next customer (this in season when all exterior house work had been significantly backed up by rain). At the end, Dimos’ team members came back promptly to attend to small issues--windows that were stuck, etc. We are thoroughly satisfied with their excellent work."

"The job went very well. First he installed the Then he assessed the job of sealing space between the exterior stone wall of my bathroom and the roof. House wrens were finding it a great place to nest. He shaped a piece of Trex to go around the stones and sealed the spacing with caulk. It was very successful and resourceful. <br /> He vented the soffets of the A-Frame portion of the house. And made minor repairs to the structure where wrought iron rails had been attached. I was thoroughly pleased with the work completed. <br /> The birds still haven't been able to create nests in the roof area. The gutters and down spouts move the water away from my foundation. I am still pleased with the results. <br />"

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse repair projects in Hull, MA

You’ll know it’s time for a new shed roof if shingles curl or buckle, soft spots sag, or water stains appear inside. Moss or other plant growth on the surface is another red flag that moisture has breached the roofing layers. Replacing the roof quickly stops leaks from spreading, protects stored items, and saves you from costlier structural repairs down the road.

Choosing between a flat and a sloped shed roof comes down to climate, budget, and upkeep. A flat roof is cheaper up front, but still needs a slight pitch for drainage. A sloped roof sheds rain and snow more easily, lasts longer, and often needs less maintenance. Weigh your local weather patterns, the look you want, and how much time you’re willing to spend on upkeep before deciding.

A shed roof’s life span hinges on the material you choose and how well you maintain it. Most standard products last 15 to 30 years, while premium picks like slate or clay tile can protect the structure for 50 to 100 years. Regular inspections, fast fixes, and routine cleaning all help you reach the upper end of those ranges and keep your tools and gear dry year-round.
