"A-Master assessed our plumbing issue (bad check valve on well pump and bad pressure tank). Quote for repairs included pulling the pump to replace check valve. Cost was quite a bit more than another plumber quote we had received so we went with the cheaper option (also because that plumber was under contract with our home warranty company). Was very impressed with A-Master plumber's professionalism, speed of diagnosis, punctuality, explanation of repairs needed, and communications. They were definitely superior in those areas to the cheaper plumber, but for this job we decided the cheaper option was sufficient."

They fixed an armoire door (antique French, so no hinges) when no one else was able to do so, and restored its veneer and cleaned the glass on the doors which had 200 years of mineral deposits. Next, they reupholstered a barrel chair, doing a beautiful job; it looks better than when I first bought it. Wilson has over 40 years of restoration experience with the Catholic Church in Italy and Ecuador, and it shows. "Juan was very easy to work with even with a little bit of a language barrier. He responded quickly to all my messages and was able to start work quickly. He matched our paint exactly and purchased premium quality products. He went out of his way to order the correct siding boards, taking time to do it correctly. His team was able to tackle all the additional work that popped up including replacing the gutters, changing exterior light fixtures, removing and repairing an old wall exhaust, replacing old shutters and adding trim to the chimney. There were a few delays in the work mostly due to the weather but otherwise he managed time and supplies very well. Will be using him again for my other work inside the house!"

"The plumber arrived within the promised window, and called earlier in the morning to let me know an approximate arrival time.  I had already obtained a replacement garbage disposal, and he quickly installed that.  The other problem was a clogged kitchen sink drain.  He used the access port (unscrewed a cap) and snake and quickly cleared the clog.  The service was good and prompt.
However, the price seems to me to be quite high for the services performed. Altogether the visit took 1 hour and 5 minutes.  The breakdown on the costs were:  $58 for the "dispatch fee" ( basic charge to come to the house); $244 for the replacement of the garbage disposal (note, I provided the new disposal); and $189 for the clog clearing.  I asked about the basis of the charges and was told that these were fixed fee services.
I had used an Angie's List "Deal" coupon ($100 for $200 in service), so the total cost to me was $391.  Even that seems quite high, certainly not a "deal".  However, it is difficult for me to know whether overall these are standard and competitive rates or not.  Overall, the basic services I needed were performed well, but I will not use this company again due to what seems to me to be excessive cost."

"It went very well.  This job took much longer than anticipated, a few unexpected problems were encountered along the way that slowed it down.  The ordering of materials took longer than anticipated and at times we were waiting for those items to arrive.  This was not the contractor's fault though.  The biggest slow-down was the shower glass installation, which KDK was not responsible for.  What was expected to take 2 weeks took 2 months for the shower installation, and Dave was constantly checking with us to see if the shower had been completed during the wait for the glass to arrive.

The biggest problem, as another person has mentioned, is that this is a very small work crew, a two man team and if one man is down for some reason things slow down significantly.  The workmanship was superb, and no attention to detail is spared, very nice craftsmanship.
Cost was kept to the contracted amount.  We added in an item at the last minute and received a very fair cost for this additional work.
