"We just bought a house in Orlando. It has berber carpet in just about every room. The house has been rented for years and the carpets are filthy. Jim arrived on time, helped me move the furniture and explained the process. He was very professional; got to work and completed the job without a stop. I'm pleased with the quality and I'm sort of a perfectionist. A+ for carpet cleaning! <br /> Our lanai was filthy: built in 1992 and looks like it's never been cleaned. Manny and Gale arrived on time and did a thorough job. There was one area at the top that I thought they missed. Manny explained that mildew eats away the surface. I trust their judgement. It looks great. The screens look like new, the white frame glows and the patio area sparkles. They get an A. <br /> We plan to have both back in six months for a refresher. Also, we only did the downstair carpet, we need the upstair down. We also need the Florida room power washed. <br /> One more thing: Marie was very easy to work with. She was pleasant, professional and knowledge. She answered the phone right away and the work was performed within the week. <br /> Excellent. <br />"

"Stinson Carpet One is the company I hired when I changed the carpet in my house located in Vista Lakes community in April-2018. Chris Giarolo is the salesperson there I worked with. He is very nice and very knowledgeable and helpful. After searching and contacting a few contractors, Stinson Carpet One offered the best price. They did a good job in terms of the quality of the work and also they finished the job as they promised in the very beginning. They are very professional, very polite and cleaned up after their work. I would recommend this company to anyone I know."

"Creative Floors finished our new tile floors yesterday and we could not be happier! From the first meeting with Carl at the showroom to saying goodbye to our wonderful installers, the process was smooth and flawless. Carl is knowledgeable, helpful, kind and caring. He was never pushy as the floors sell themselves. The showroom is packed with options. We chose 5 different tile patterns for our home. The installers [Marcel, Carlos and Juan] were always on time, finished the job ahead of time, incredibly meticulous, clean, kind and caring. They treated the job as if they were working on their own home. These guys are the best!! Many thanks to Creative Floors! I cannot recommend them highly enough!!"

"We had three estimates from flooring people on Angie's List.  All had excellent reviews.  One felt the hall area would be difficult due to flooring in the hall under carpet that was half parquet wood and half cement.  One said he couldn't take on the hall because of the situation.  One was rather taciturn and the other quite friendly and outgoing.  We thought we might have difficulties communicating with the quiet one in case a problem arose. <br />  We showed each estimator the floor that was under the carpet in the family room.  It was the same as what had been in the kitchen when we moved in.  The man who laid the tile in the kitchen about 20 years ago had said it needed to come off in order to have a good bond with the tile.  It looked like linoleum, but was more of a thin film of linoleum with no backing, seriously attached to the cement floor.  The tile man had had a terrible time removing it.  Matt and the others felt it needed to be removed before installing the wood, and it wouldn't be a problem. <br /> We decided on Matt Manning who was easy to talk to, and he answered all of our questions plus gave us extra information.  He praised his team of installers and was sure they could handle the hall.  We liked the detailed estimate he provided.  We drove up to his showroom of flooring to select the wood and color.   Matt met us when he said he would, and he was patient and helpful while we looked at the choices of wood.  We took several home to see what they looked like in our room, lighting and furniture.  We chose an  oak, 5" wide, engineered wood. <br /> Matt delivered the wood and put it in the living room the day before the installing crew was to arrive.  We had laid down some blankets, but he may have had some himself if we hadn't done so. <br /> The crew of three arrived on the planned day about 9:45 as Matt had said they would.  They were all very polite, friendly and neat.  They went right to work covering the large opening into the kitchen with plastic and taking up the carpet.  The parquet and lower cement area were handled with no problems.  Then, they got to the unusual linoleum like floor in the family room.  It didn't want to come up and had to be chipped less than an inch at a time.  When they left about 6:00 the old flooring was about half removed.  The men cleaned up everything before departing.  Matt had come by to see how things were going and see the difficulty with the linoleum removal. <br /> The next day the crew again arrived about 9:45 and began work on the removal.  Once the flooring was gone, the wood installation went very quickly.  They added the white shoe molding and caulked all the joins and painted over the end sections of the molding.  They cleaned up completely and wiped up any glue that had squeezed out, then went over it with a mop.  They replaced the furniture after putting pads on the feet of the chairs and shelf units.   <br /> We had paid for the wood when we signed the contract.  Matt came by a day later to take a final look and pick up the second check. <br /> The only drawback with the crew was that only one spoke English and he is still working on it.  The others are probably learning, but shy to speak.  All were hardworking, polite and careful. <br /> Matt is energetic and eager to please the customer.  I would give him an A- for responsiveness since he was a bit slow to respond sometimes due to working in so many directions at once.  However, it was wonderful to meet a young man so hardworking, pleasant, and detail oriented.   We love our floor and would definitely call on Matt if we decided to have more wood flooring installed. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Intercession City, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
