"Did not use. Would not provide quote over the phone. I understand why as the quoted onsite price of $304 was well above other quotes of around $200. Looking for a reasonably priced and capable plumbing service - based on their reviews thought I had found one. Not to be."

"After I spent $500 on Freon two weeks ago my A/C is not working again. The person in the office said I have a freon leak, but the tech never informed me about that. I would have never had him add freon, if it was leaking. The tech didn't give me a copy of the invoice I signed, he said he would email it to me. Never received the email & all of the sudden the invoice states I didn't want the leak repaired which Tech never mentioned. The invoice only showed the price. ***Beware this must be their way to get you to spend more money*** SCAM***I will let my family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers know how they do business."

"I called on sunday and he was on site in little over an hour. He had all the parts necessary and had the work done in about 30 mins or less. Was very professional and polite. Answered all questions I asked. I can't say enough on how much I appreciated his work. If we have anymore issues we will definitely call him again."

"The process was quick and easy. I just provided a water sample. It was determined that I had high levels of chlorine in our drinking water. I was able to solve my water problems with only one filter. Why did I wait years to have this done? Now I can be confident that our water is safe. Highly recommended."

"Save your money, call someone else. These guys are expensive and INCOMPETENT. Joseph "fixed" a bathtub leak by replacing the faucets and diverter. This cost in excess of $500, way too much for parts & labor. The problem is, he never tested the faucets, which is highly unusual for any type of service technician. When my son turned on the faucet to take a shower, the diverter (the middle knob) shot forward with such force, it fractured the ceramic tile at the back of the tub 4 feet away. Thank GOD he wasn't already in the tub, it could have seriously hurt or killed him, that's how violent the force was. Water was shooting out from the diverter into the tub. Fortunately, I own a water main valve shut off tool and was able to stop the leak less than 10 minutes later. What angered me the most is Capital City Plumbing's outright refusal to come out immediately to fix THEIR screw up. This would have meant 4 adults not being able to bathe and go to work until whenever the plumbers decided to finally come out to repair the problem that they caused. After we promised to sue them and post an honest review EVERYWHERE about their lack of concern for our house flooding or having no water, they finally admitted fault and offered a refund. If it were THEIR home, I guarantee you that they would light a fire under someone's rear end to get the problem fixed immediately, not tomorrow sometime, hours later. Who can wait 15-18 hours with water shooting out of your tub? Not us. We'll never use these incompetent non-professionals ever again and suggest you do the same."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Columbia, SC

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
