"It went great and I left Harmond and Neli a great review on the chat survey that I wish I had copied to past here as I wrote everything I felt about the Tech and the company and it was all good. I will be using the Neli services again when any of my appliances need attention / repair. Thank You Neli."

"Very well. The repairman checked the washer thoroughly, and determined that we didnt need to replace the motor at this time. We really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. Will definitely call them the next time we need any household appliance repairs."

"I didn’t use their services to get the work done. It’s the estimate which made me not choose them since they were a bit pricey. I did contact couple of other companies and both the companies gave me an estimate over the phone. One of them is coming out tomorrow to do the actual installation. However, A 1st Choice Appliance Services were very prompt, professional and thorough. I would consider using their services in the future."

"This appears to be a father-son operation, and I had dealings with both the father and the son.  The father (Carlos, Sr.) came to repair our inoperable, outdoor, tankless water heater.  I had a great experience with this company, and I wholeheartedly endorse them for repairs and installations.   I wish that I had called them first.  I made the mistake of calling a plumber at first, and that was a complete waste of $100.  The plumber came, unplugged the tankless water heater, took off the cover, and then asked "me" if I knew where the reset button was?  Honestly.   At that point, I politely told the plumber to leave.   <br /> I can't say enough good things about this business.  The son ("Carlos, Jr.") took my call immediately and spent time describing their service, various prices, and my options.  I had the option of either replacing my 7 year old water heater or taking a chance to see if it could be cleaned and repaired with no guarantee that it could be fixed.  The cost of a new unit would be $1,000 plus about $350 for installation.  The cost of a repair would be a minimum of $130 for diagnostic labor and probably $180 for decalcification.  I had no idea that tankless water heaters should be decalcified every one to three years.    <br /> I rolled the dice and opted for a diagnosis and possible repair.   Carlos, Sr. was prompt, courteous, and professional.  After cleaning the unit, he determined that the igniter was broken and needed a new part.  The part was shipped overnight and arrived on Saturday morning. To his credit, Carlos Sr. came out to our house on a Saturday morning to complete the repair.  Ahhh.  Hot water.  No more cold showers.   <br /> My only suggestion to Carlos is that they consider maintaining an inventory of parts without having to order directly from the factory, but I understand if these are complex pieces of machinery and may be cost prohibitive.   The broken part for my heater was $45 and the shipping charge (overnight with Saturday delivery) was $74.   <br /> All in all, I strongly recommend this company, and I hope that Carlos, Sr. continues to make repairs for many years to come.  I will definitely plan on calling this company again with any future problems or new installation of a tankless water heater. <br />"

"Caesar was the repair person who arrive to fix my built-in confection Oven / microwave combo.   The microwave was not working.  Caesar know right away that relay / (and some other part that I don't remember) had failed.  He told me what it would cost to repair it.  (Which was almost the cost of a brand new unit, just shy a $200 )  He told me he would not recommend fixing it.  He actually went on to say he would not recommend replacing it with another combo confection/microwave unit.  He said he had seen to many fail to often.   He recommended replacing with just a microwave.  Since this was a built in, he also knew of a Trim Kit that could be used to make the new microwave look built-in also.   Making it look finished.  He had pictures of another he had done.  It looked great and I decided to do that.  Caesar said it would be about 2 weeks before everything came in.  It actually only took a week.  They called early to install.  Everything was completed, cleaned and old hauled away in less than 30 minutes.   The cost was still less than actually replacing the combo unit.  Caesar was very professional, courteous.  I was very satisfied with them. <br />"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Islamorada, FL

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
