"Tea and George are gifted artists and are extraordinary craftsman and craftswoman. The book shelves and cabinets they designed and built for the new extension to our house are beautiful and very functional. George’s particular attention to details and construction are evident in the completed project, even more so given the difficult space in which it was installed. Their professionalism and extraordinary care in the delivery and installation phase were greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Art Woodstone Studio."

"Background: My house is a 1920's bungalow in Northeast DC. ?Lots of oddities and surprises in a house this old.?I purchased in 2012 and from the day I moved in I knew I would eventually want to re-do the kitchen. ?This is the first house I've ever owned, so I'm not an expert in home repairs, but I do have some experience in building/repairing things myself (with my dad's help) and I've also hired contractors on fairly big projects (finishing a basement and landscaping/masonry). ? Pre-contract: I had emailed 5-6 contractors via Angie's List. ?Most of them wrote me back. ?I got estimates from two of them. ?Then I got estimates from a handyman I have used in the past and another contractor recommended by a friend. ?So, I talked to a lot of people. ?Some were outrageously expensive, so I eliminated them. ?I narrowed it down to Cornelio and one other contractor. ?Cornelio seemed confident and creative. ?He came out for multiple visits before having any contract in place. ?He helped measure and brainstorm the ideal layout. ?He was willing to work with whatever cabinet manufacturer I wanted (not that I was very opinionated, but a couple of the other contractors offered only an "all-in" service, meaning I would need to work with their provider for cabinets, counters, etc.). ?I ended up buying my cabinets from Lowe's and used Cornelio's recommendation for countertops. ?Note that the cabinet selection also took 3-4 visits (which was actually pretty cool watching Trey, our Lowe's salesman in New Carrollton, doing his thing with the 3D designs). Execution: Cornelio didn't disappear once the contract was signed (I've had that happen before - maybe it's just me). ?He has multiple jobs going on but was always available to come by and discuss some of the finer details. ?He accommodated last-minute requests, such as when I asked him to repair the pulley system in an old window. ?They built an extension on the house that looks as though it was always part of the house. ?The team was there nearly every day (including Saturdays) and cleaned up every day. ?Our refrigerator and dishwasher were on back-order and showed up a week or so after everything else was complete, but Cornelio made sure his team was there to meet the delivery guys and install them. End Product: The kitchen looks great and is everything we hoped it would be! ?If I can figure out how to upload photos I will..."

"What a thrill to have discovered this superb contractor! We had a 3-room remodeling project (living room/dining room/library and hall) that other contractors had low-bid on -- with insufficient understanding of the project's scope. Andrei videotaped the project and developed a detailed scope of work that met our requirements exactly. The work included removing wallpaper, painting (including ceiling that slopes from 8' to 18'), installing wainscot, fixing floors, installing electrical boxes, installing new wallpaper, etc. Each of the 3 teams he brought in were extraordinarily competent, friendly, organized, and meticulous. The wallpaper and flooring work in particular is beyond perfect! We will be asking them back next year, to gut and model a bathroom. These guys are GREAT."

"

Our new kitchen included new flooring, which extended into joining laundry room (we chose porcelain tile),  level 1 granite counter top, tile backsplash, paint, new cabinets, and electrical work (we replaced a big light with 4 recessed lights, and moved the location of our appliances.)

New half bathroom included new vanity, granite counter top, flooring (which extended into the entry way), paint, and they installed a new toilet, mirror and light fixture which we purchased separately.

Ocean's estimate was the best we received. (One contractor gave an estimate for just refacing cabinets which was almost as much as Ocean's for brand new ones.) They also had great reviews on Angie's List so we decided to go with them. We worked with Sean. He was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Our installers were a team of 3 that worked very efficiently and cleaned up after each work day.

There were a few hiccups along the way, but I think that can be expected when doing such a major job. Both Sean, and the installers made sure that we were happy in the end.

We would definitely use them again. The price was great, as was the quality of work and professionalism.

We are very happy with our kitchen and bathroom.

"We had been having issues with our patio roof leaking anytime it rained. When Home Pro came and looked at it, they immediately identified the problem. We had shingles installed on the roof of the patio. However, the roof's slope was too shallow for a shingle roof. The way shingled roofs were installed allowed water to seep down underneath the shingles, down the nails, and into the roof itself. Also, the skylights on the roof of the patio were allowing water to pool. Together, the nails and the improper skylights, water was intruding into the house. Home Pro explained everything in very simple terms, ensuring that we were able to understand what the problem was and how it would need to be repaired.
The quote we got from Home Pro was almost $1000 less than the other quotes we received; the work description was identical, so the decision to go with Home Pro was extremely straightforward.
We had some very bad luck with weather. Unlike any renovations inside the house, roofing needs to be done in clear and non-wet weather. Unluckily, our original date of repair was a washout. Home Pro rescheduled us for two weeks later, at their next availability. And yet again, our rescheduled date was a washout. So we discussed with Home Pro, and they worked to get us scheduled for a Sunday. Luckily the weather was clear, and Home Pro showed up promptly.
The work looks fantastic. The installers were very efficient, and clean. After installing the roof, everything was cleaned up.
We are very happy to have the roof repaired, and would recommend Home Pro to anyone in need of roofing work.

"I contacted George based on Angie's users' comments, and I was not disappointed. I have a brick house with wood trim. George walked me through the job before he started, so I knew what to expect. He and his crew were responsive, courteous, and provided excellent work, done quickly. Highly recommended!

"Atlantis has done a gerat job for my kitchen countertop. They have guide me from selecting the granite from their huge warehouse. They also walked me a tour to their fabrication and to show me how granite countertops are being processed from beginning to my kitchen. "Great work by CJ & Ron!  CJ came out to my house a week prior to take a look at my set up and gave me an estimate.  He was thorough in discussing all the options of how I'd like to install the softener.
Everything went well at the time of service too.  Their work was solid and they made sure they cleaned up after everything was done.

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Issue, MD

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
