"Tommy kept his appointment for a bid for a chip seal of our 1700 sf, 15 year old driveway and provided a bid within range of other bids collected. He was able to start immediately with equipment and a crew adequate for the job. All his equipment and trucks were branded with a company name. The job was done within 4 hours and Tommy cleaned up his work area. Professional!"

"Juan and his helper did a beautiful job installing a limestone wall for my front yard flower bed. They also put dirt in and even drilled holes for drainage, which I'd never thought of. They were on time, prompt, and Juan always communicated what was being done, what should be done, and kept me updated on the timeline of the project. These gentlemen were outstanding. I would definitely use JCD and DF Services again!"

Small jobs welcome

"We could not be happier. They came out quickly to bid. Showed up to execute on time and did a great job. ALL of their crew was professional and friendly. I wish I knew these guys before I retired as I needed a lot of asphalt work at my hotels. This 2500 foot job in my backyard looks like a highway now."

"We had our front yard planters border redone because the original one was not done correctly and was cracking and uneven and a large pavers patio area in our backyard done and DeLuna did an amazing job. Their attention to detail was great. They listened to everything we wanted, was always available by text or phone and far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this company for all your landscaping needs."

"We have used Garcia Lawn and Tree Service for several years.  Initially, he was just a young man with a lawn mower, but we were very impressed with his work.  He now has a full blown lawn and tree service and we have never been unhappy with his work.  He comes every two weeks during the growing season and is very dependable, pleasant and polite.  Without our asking, he has trimmed tree limbs leaning over our house we were not aware were ready to fall. In other words, he sees what needs to be done and does it without our asking.  Our lawn always looks nice when he finishes his work. <br />"

"Rolando and his team did an outstanding job.  Gilda in the office provided excellent communication throughout the project.  They used some materials that I already had and then helped find other materials as well.  I ended up running short on some brick and they were able to locate nearly identical brick from another job and GAVE IT TO ME to help finish out my project. <br /> The team worked quickly and the quality of their work was very good.  I would definitely use Austin Stonescapes again. <br />"

"I will be very brief. The technician came to the house at the appointed time and quickly went to work using proprietary pest control products within the home. Some areas, such as under cabinets, are hard to reach, but the technician found the gaps to insert pest control products. We had been experiencing a large number of spiders outside the house with a few inside. We also saw a few cockroaches of various sizes. Since the treatment, I have seen very few of each. There was one roach in the garage area and I saw a few right after treatment which appeared to be incapacitated by the treatment.  <br /> The technician also inspected and repositioned the termite monitors since I had done some landscaping work recently.  We previously had ABC perform termite treatment on our new home (under construction) as some activity was detected during the framing stage.  Had the builder fulfilled my request for Termimesh (also offered by this same company), we would not have had to do that.  However, I'm confident that the risk of termites is greatly diminished.  They are active in my neighborhood and throughout many parts of Texas.  <br /> After several experiences with ABC, I have been very satisfied with their work, including handyman services.  They are prompt and efficient and often go above what is expected of them.  <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Jarrell, TX

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
