"Everything was excellent. From the moment we had Advanced Granite solutions come out to give us an estimate, to picking out our quartz countertop, to the gentlemen that did the installation and the gentleman that did the plumbing, everyone was professional responsive and a pleasure to work with. Would definitely hire again"

"Vince called me back within hours of my sending him a message through Angie's List.  Even though he does not list Montgomery County as one of his service areas, he was completely willing to help us out.  In my message, I had requested the work to be done onsite but Vince explained why having him pick up the generator and take it back to his shop to work on it would make more sense.  His charge for pick-up and delivery back to us was only $34.95.
When Vince came to pick up the generator, he was on time and was able to give me a ballpark cost for the work (which turned out to be very accurate).  He said that he could get it back to us in 3-4 days but I asked if he could do it faster as there was a snow storm predicted for the next day or so.  Vince agreed to a shorter time line and ultimately got the generator back to us within 1 day!  There ended up being no snow storm but we got our generator back in working condition - along with a booklet of care instructions, a copy of our invoice, and a service history form.  A few days later we received a hand-written Thank You card in appreciation of our business.  I can't imagine how the service could have been any better.  We will use Vince for any future small engine repairs/maintenance we have and highly recommend him and his services.

"Very responsive.  Met with me on short notice for an estimate while I was in town for a short visit.  It had been a rental property for 10 years and I live out of town but I wanted to fix it up for sale.  I felt very comfortable with his level of professionalism and compared him to other bids and found him well within range. He was also able to do the work of several contractors each doing one thing all under one contract and for a lower price than others combined.  He started work within two weeks of signing and stayed true to his estimated time line.

He sent pictures of before and after the work and I am very happy.  He understood my budget limits and helped keep costs down but retain quality of paint, repairs and workmanship.

Inside the house we had carpet that, when removed, found there was more damage than expected.  He sent pictures of what he found and we talked candidly about changes to the contract with additional fees that were essentially at cost for materials with a small markup.
He was very helpful in keeping up communication with me, even being far away and letting me know how things were going and any decisions that needed to be made so I felt comfortable with the work being done.
I sent a property manager to review the end product with him and she gave high marks.  And she's a tough cookie.
Only problem is, now I wish I could move back in rather than sell it!

"From the very beginning this project was off to a great start.  George painting met with us promptly at the time established in our initial conversation.  Before the night was over we received by email a very fair proposal.  The main project included painting the living room, dining room, foyer, and hallway.  The add-ins were installing the crown molding and repairing the nail pops.  Once we receive the proposal we did not hesitate going with everything.  The job was started about a week after we agreed to move forward.  On the first day the crew was sitting outside waiting for 7am arrive, they were prompt.  We did not need to move any furniture however I did remove some of the china and crystal out of the dining room.  The crew came in were friendly and courteous but they went right to work.  They immediately covered all the flooring and protected furniture from paint.  When I returned home that evening the dining room, living room, foyer and hallway were painted, crown molding installed and furniture back in original place.  The second day was devoted to kitchen, family room and bedrooms.  No paint was found on furniture, floors, windows, or anyplace it should not have been.  The paint job is top notch as well as the repair work.  I am extremely please with everything they did.  George's Painting is one contractor I would have no hesitancy recommending.

"We have a contract that we pay monthly for any plumbing and appliance repair, like a home warranty. The guy came out the second time and told my wife that if they couldn't get it fixed they would buy a new dishwasher. So they rank very highly on my scale.

What I like about them is that they do get the job done, but what I don't like is that you can describe in as much detail on the website what the problem is. But it's kinda hit or miss on whether they are have the necessary parts to fix the particular appliance. They almost always have to do second call or buy a part. So like with our dishwasher, they came out and sort of diagnosed the problem but they had to get the motor and things so you can be another week or 10 days with out the dishwasher. Which is not the end of the world. I understand why they don't do that because it could be expensive to buy the parts for all of the different machines that you are servicing."

The final outcome was very good!  Getting there was not.

Morgan was my salesperson.  She changed the appointment time due to problems with babysitting.  I already knew I wanted shaker style cabinets and quartz countertops.  Morgan was pleasant and knew her product. Be aware that Morgan does not have an office e-mail address.  After several failed attempts at contacting Morgan (I only had her personal e-mail address). Stewart (the owner) answered the phone and within 20 minutes I was speaking with Morgan regarding three changes to the kitchen.  (Changes were to replace an added box from two drawers to three drawers, replace the window sill with quartz and add a valance above the sink.  We agreed on the additional cost.  I received no e-mail confirming the changes and cost.  I e-mailed Morgan and Stewart to confirm the changes and additional cost ? I also attached a file containing a picture of the valance.

Diego arrived June 1, 2014 (a week after my initial meeting with Morgan) to take measurements.

Five weeks later (from the date I established my change orders) I called the company for an expected installation date.  Due to the changes the company sent another installer out to measure for the drawers and valance. I was given no explanation as to why it took 5 weeks to determine that new measurements were needed.  It took another two hours as the installer measured the entire kitchen again.

I was not given the specs of the new sink.  It took over a week to obtain Moe?s name and number, who was helpful in supplying the info I needed to verify that the sink the company chose was of very good quality.  Moe works for Granite and Marble Express, Inc.; the quartz installers.

Approximately 5 weeks later, I was informed the install would occur August 21, 22 and 23rd.   No one from the office provided any instructions on preparing the kitchen for the install.  Luckily I remembered Diego mentioning that all cabinets had to be emptied.  All was ready upon his arrival.

Diego arrived timely and worked tirelessly from Thursday until late Sunday to install the available items.  His work thus far had been impeccable. Five of my cabinets could not be completed due to ordering errors.  The change to the box from 2 to 3 drawers was ignored as was the face for the valance.  No one from the company forwarded the picture to the manufacturer.

A week prior to the installation Eric (from Granite and Marble Express, Inc.) arrived to measure for the countertops and backslash.  Eric explained both the measurement and installation process.  Eric also made a few small suggestions that ultimately improved the final outcome.

The countertops and backsplash took four days instead of two to install.  There were errors in some of the cut quartz.  The installers were sloppy and tried to pass off shoddy work.  Only the lead could speak some English.  They were polite and accommodating in making corrections once they were informed. The final outcome was great.  Word of advice; Expect to be your own general contractor on the job.

Due to the number of ordering errors, I contacted Omar (a supervisor) to request a copy of the order confirmation from the manufacturer.  I received the copy the next day.  I reviewed the measurements and found errors.  Diego arrived the next day to confirm the errors for the reorder.  I again e-mailed Omar for another copy of the manufacturer?s order confirmation and found yet another error.

Diego and Carlos arrived October 8th to complete the job.  There is a slight color variation on the white crown molding as compared to the white cabinets.  Omar called the manufacturer and verified the same paint color had been used.  Omar arrived on site to apologize for the delays and then asked that I not supply a review on Angie's list as it could impede securing future jobs.  (Doesn't this defeat the purpose of Angie's list?)

Diego had to return Saturday to install missing hardware and the drop-down stainless steel containers in front of the sink.

It took 4 1/2 months to complete my kitchen.  I was disappointed with the multitude of errors and delays.  I withheld the remaining payment until the job was completed.  I felt this would provide incentive to complete my kitchen.

Communication is a serious problem with this company and was the cause for the delays.

In the end, Diego provided quality work and the final outcome was exactly as I expected

The initial job was done and looked fine, but, in speaking with others, I determined that the finish was too rough to the touch.  The company responded quickly to my complaint and sent the same serviceman out to address my concerns.  That serviceman called and gave me an hour's window to get home from work in the very early afternoon on a Wednesday or otherwise "[I] would just have to wait [for another available day in his schedule]." He was much more concerned with the fact that his having to address my concerns was going to cut into his "personal life" than he was with making the job right to my satisfaction.  He agreed that the tub was too rough to the touch, but, presumably in an effort to save time, he wanted to resand it only.  Nevertheless, he reluctantly agreed to apply another coating of paint.  Even so, he was there less than an hour.  I do not typically write negative reviews about anything, but I feel that the fact that there was no effort to accommodate my schedule is unacceptable, particularly when it was a matter of responding to my concerns regarding the quality of the initial job.  And, the tub still is too rough to the touch!

UPDATE:  The aforementioned finish began to peel, and I was forced to contact the company yet again.  This time, I was able to communicate with Bruce, whom I believe is the owner of the company.  He couldn't have been more responsive to my concerns.  He immediately asked Todd, a different serviceman, to come out to address my concerns.  Todd was very friendly and flexible and seemed genuinely to care about my concerns.  He came promptly at the agreed upon time, and he and his partner worked for several hours resanding and refinishing the tub.  For some unknown reason, that finish began to "ooze" the following day, and I again communicated with Bruce, who again couldn't have been more responsive to my my concerns and asked Todd again to come to diagnose the problem.  Todd again was very friendly and flexible and seemed genuinely to care about my concerns.  He again came promptly at the agreed upon time, conducted a thorough washing of the new finish, and rehung my shower doors.  I have had not problems since, and the finish Is very smooth to the touch.  Sometimes things don't happen according to plan, but Baltimore's Best Tub Refinishing really did go above and beyond to make things right.   I now have amended my ratings from straight Cs with a D for professionalism to straight As.  I highly recommend this company!
