"Honest, prompt, quality workmanship, good communication. Did a roof repair around chimney. Gave me an estimate which I accepted. Upon doing the work, Jim said it was less extensive than what he thought it might be. Cut the estimated price almost in half. That is honesty. Highly recommend WJC Construction for a variety of home repairs."

Small jobs welcome

"They did a great job with repairing our shed roof. It has rained hard a couple of times after they repaired it and everything is dry. They were careful that everything associated with our leaky roof was repaired correctly. They came when they said they would. Price was also reasonable. I would definitely recommend them."

"Everything went great! My windows were spotless after they cleaned, and in addition to the screen repair, they also repaired the sliding glass door to the backyard so it would slide easier. They also recommended a place to repair one of our windows that is older, when we were told by someone else that all the windows in the room needed to be replaced rather than the one. I will definitely be using them again!"

"This is the second time we've used Fish Window Cleaners.  We used them last year after getting their name from Anglie's List.  Both times, they cleaned our windows, inside and out, second floor and first.  Both years, they have been prompt, efficient, thorough, friendly, and professional.  The cost was reasonable, too - did not break the bank.  I not only hate window cleaning, I don't do it well.  Having someone as good as they are takes the stress off me.  And, now I can enjoy the view. <br />"

"Mr. Baker visited my house and provided a free estimate to replace the top exterior window pane of a double hung 6 light vinyl window. He explained in detail the scope of the work to be performed and the time it would take to complete it.The price quote was $235. I said I wanted to think about it and he said that was ok and I could call him later that evening if I wanted him to do the work the next day. I called that evening and he returned the following day to pick up the window. He returned it the same day in about 5 hours (as promised) and reinstalled the window. I was extremely pleased with the work and prompt service. Considering the door to door service, free onsite estimate, convenience, and quality of the work, I think the price was very good. It was also a real pleasure working with Ralph and I would definitely recommend his services to others. Thanks Ralph! <br />"

"We have used Ton Adams twice to install windows. Our interactions leading up to installation were positive. Expect to wait for an installation date though. It did take a while to get dates on the calendar both times. The crew lead by Jay is awesome, and we requested them multiple times. They are professional, friendly and personable. They took the time to do the installation correctly, and they also took the time to talk to us about issues or info about the windows. There were a couple minor issues. One involved a delivered screen that was not the right size. The other involved a broken piece of one window. Both issues were addressed professionally and fixed in a reasonable amount of time. As mentioned it can take some time to get things scheduled."

"Very well. This is the 4th or 5th time We Care, Inc. has done major repairs to my home. They are prompt, polite, and easy to get in touch with. Toward the end of the project, the owner came out and gave everything a once over. He was interested in how I found the work. As part of the deal, the company included a DVD video of the entire process. They're local, too."

"We are very pleased with the total experience of Driveway Maintence Inc. The owner got back to me promptly the same day. He scheduled a day to come and give an estimate. We received the written estimate and hired him because of the great reviews on Angie's list. The owner and 2 others were here on time and finished in an hour or so. The cracks were all filled in and the Driveway was sealed. It looked great. We will difinately use them in the future when we need the driveway resealed again. Highly recommend them. I apologize if forgot the owners name but he was very professional, honest and fair."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Jenkintown, PA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
